Pursuing an MBA is probably the first informed choice a person takes. Before that be it your specialization after Class 10 or in your undergrad, the person making that choice is a kid, who has not experienced the world enough to be able to make an informed choice. That is probably a reason we find so many freshers in Indian MBA colleges. The people with technical work experience might want to switch over to the management side of the business.

Because now I know how exactly the MBA would help me achieve my goals, I naturally think it's gonna be easy. This is where I was wrong. Coming from a job with management experience and ability to put in long work stints I believed that the purported rigor is nothing new to experience. However, after my first 2 weeks at MDI, I have to admit that my whole assumption was proven to be false.

My first day at MDI thought started slow, gained pace tremendously. Though the initial experience was overwhelming, in hindsight I can understand its importance. Those 2 weeks gave me one of the best learning experiences I have had so far. The utmost importance of adhering to the deadlines gave me a lot of mental and physical stress trying to cope-up with it. You didn’t have any choice. Either do some very very hard work or prioritize, plan and do smart work. By smart work, I mean being focused, effective and result-oriented. You will realize the importance of working in groups. It also brought camaraderie among our batch mates very soon. This way an individual will get a chance to bring out the best in oneself. This discovery is what you will use to build a better YOU.

On a personal level, being a BITSian makes Aditya Birla Group very special to me. My alma mater BITS Pilani was the brainchild of GD Birla. It was here that I underwent my first transformation in life from an ignorant kid who didn’t know much into an individual who is empowered to make wise choices. BITS was where I learned to think big and see the bigger picture. It never tied down the students to the engineering or science courses they were admitted into. There were many diverse electives taught by reputed faculty. It was through this that I got to study finance and realized that - this is what enthused me the most.

Therefore an MBA for me is a stepping stone to get into the financial world with a strong academic backing. Aditya Birla Capital being one of the best financial services provider in the country is a company I have a dream to get into. With its vast portfolio including asset management, private equity, wealth management and a host of other services, it is the perfect platform for me to work. Aditya Birla Group made a huge value addition in my life. Now I want to work for Aditya Birla Group and contribute value to it.
