“An idea can change your life”

A statement I truly live by. This tagline by the Aditya Birla Group owned Idea cellular is something I’ve been hearing since I was 13 years old and it has had tremendous positive impact on me. And there’s no denying the fact that they truly changed the lives of millions.

ABG is the brand every millennial has grown up with. UltraTech has enabled my family to build our beautiful dream, the heavenly abode that has fostered my growth. ABG has also been the forever go to fashion solution for me. Right from shopping the everyday fresh collection at Pantaloons in my school and college days, to dressing up with the Van Heusen outlook while entering the corporate life, I’ve truly evolved everyday. Allen Solly has taken away the seriousness from Friday dressing and made the last working week day a more comfortable experience. While all these coexist, I’ve seen my father suiting up in Peter England for the beginning of all things good. He has protected all my dreams with his trust in Aditya Birla Capital, his one go to solution for investing and financing support.

I admire how ABG along with its diverse portfolio and huge team, still manages to hold on to their values so strongly. Right from the integrity of the staff at all their outlets, to the passion of their top managers in the work they do, the ABG family is committed to protect their brand and serve their customers. Their seamless blend of creativity and speed is visible in everything they do.

While the Aditya Birla Centre for Community Initiatives and Rural Development has made a difference in the lives of millions, I’ve been on my own journey of trying to make impact. I’ve volunteered with Make A Difference for 5 years, teaching the less privileged children, mentoring them and raising funds to ensure we can support their holistic development. One child from my journey of those 5 years reached out to me recently. She talked to me about her dream of pursuing nursing and all the obstacles in her way, right from acquiring her final mark sheet from school to funding for college. I and my friend took it upon us to enable her to cross this bridge and reach her destination. Multiple campaigns later, we successfully raised 66% of her education fees amounting to Rs 3.32 lacs. We’re still fundraising for the remaining amount. I remember that in the initial days, there was a time when we needed to raise 1 lac in 48 hours to secure her admission. We were tensed and worried, but someone had once told me - “If you are trying to do good, just strive, and the rest will fall in place”, and it did. We raised the required amount in the stipulated time and as I write this, that child is in a hospital in Ahmedabad treating some patient, and doing her bit for the society. It is just one child, but that’s just a start. The journey shall go on, in an attempt to impact the society positively.
