I have read this quotation, “Face reality as it is … not as you wish it to be.” – Jack Welch. This has always been the path I stick to in life. Beginning from school, I have always been a bit shy, a bit confused but nevertheless a joyful kid. I was good with academics but lacked confidence due to my introvert nature. I wanted to pursue engineering in graduation like most of kids of my generation. Unfortunately or fortunately, I don’t know, I couldn’t qualify the exam. One cannot (forget should not), stay with failures long. Start it again.
I took admission in B.Sc Mathematics honors (University Of Delhi). My college gave me exposure to students from different cultural background and states. I tried to explore all the possible options provided by college. I was involved in organizing seminars, workshops. With the help of few mates, I even organized Fest for Mathematics Department. And that was the first fest ever organized by mathematics department. We interacted with sponsors, did lots of to and fro and made it successful. Now, that level of participation transformed me a lot. I am more creative now, manage group work effectively. And I am no more an introvert!! I learned that I should not sweat the small stuff. Team work matters a lot. Either the entire team wins or loses; there is no space for individual gladiators. Many a times we will fail at something in life to bring out our real strength.
Once the college got over I got into our family business to gain practical experience of business environment and its pros and cons. After working there for two years I got clarity about my goals and decided on pursuing an MBA. So I started my preparation for Management examinations with full devotion and clarity. I managed to get a good CAT percentile which helped me get into IMI. Clarity will help you to know how to act in a situation, what will be the consequences, so you will give your 100 percent. So the chances of success become much better. Confidence with clarity can get you into something but can’t help you stay there for long.
So, here at IMI, every day is a new experience and I am enjoying the learning experience fully and working to achieve best out of it.
When I was young I always used to hear that BIRLAs are the people who you should always aim to be. Not only because they were the biggest name in India but also because of the kind of work they do. But as a child I never knew what business they are in or how they go about it. The first time I saw a ABG brand logo was on a Freshwrap Aluminium wrap but that never made me realize the stature of the company. Now as an adult wherever I go I feel the presence of Aditya Birla Group in my life. From the clothes I wear to the network I use for communicating with my loved ones- Vodafone Idea Limited, formerly Idea Cellular. Aditya Birla Group is a company with products in almost every field including aluminium, Retail, Chemicals, Trading ,Copper, Cement, Financial Services, Textiles and Telecom services in India. I’m a fan of Louis Philippe and I prefer their products the most. I believe it’s a perfect mix of affordability and luxury. They offer a wide variety of products to choose from and its upgraded regularly based on the latest trends. The brand gives me corporate look and I feel confident after wearing them.
One more product for which I recently have been interested is Aditya Birla Idea Payments Bank Limited (ABPB). They provide mobile number as bank account number which I believe is a very unique idea. The very fact that it is backed by the Aditya Birla Group is enough for me to trust that this endeavor of theirs will go a long way.
