With the industrial revolution picking up in India post Independence, Aditya Birla Group has been instrumental in lending a hand in the growth of the Indian economy at large. With such a broad Industry horizon of the Aditya Birla Group, it has managed to touch the lives of almost every Indian in some or the other way. From Hindustan Times to Hindustan motors, from Hindalco to Grasim, ABG has played an influential role in shaping India to what it is today.

While at large, Adity Birla Group has been a contributor to some or the other aspect of an average Indian’s life, I too have not been an exception to this underlying truth. From keeping my mom’s handmade tiffins hot to keeping my beer chilled in a can, Hindalco’s aluminium has been a part of my life. A particular incident that I remember was seeing loads of UltraTech Cement being used in the construction of a DAM in Sikkim’s Teesta river, of which my father was a Project Manager. And judging from it’s quality standard, there was no other choice when it came down to the construction of our own house, a few years back.

Aditya Birla Fashion & Retail Ltd’s in-house brands have been a staple in my wardrobe. Brands like Allen Solly and Louis Philippe are synonymous with top fashion. Pantaloons, a multibrand fashion house retail, has been my go-to fashion destination. Thus, Aditya Birla Group has had a big impact in my life, and has covered a wide array of my needs.

Challenges and difficulties is something that each one of us face constantly in our lives. While some challenges take us to the edge, some pass on like a breeze. But like it has been said “tough times call for tougher decisions”, it is these tough times that get the most out of us and in the process transform us. In my life I too have faced many such challenging situations wherein I have come close to giving up, but what has made me stronger is my will to survive and to handle situations with persistence.

One such incident takes me back to a recent event. It was the morning of 5th June 2019, we were at a place called Thangu in Sikkim, about 250 KMs from the nearest Airport. I had gone there to participate in the World’s Highest Marathon, being held for the first time at Lake Gurudongmar (17800 ft above sea level). The challenge was to run a full length marathon (42KMs) in freezing weather with low oxygen and no sleep in the previous night. This mammoth task seemed impossible to me, especially when even getting myself mentally prepared for the event in itself was a tough task. But since I was there to achieve a task, I took inspiration from those around me and to my disbelief, I saw inspiration pouring over me from all direction. Therein I found my purpose, I could now see the goal that was once cloudy to me. I finally ran the race and hence achieved what I had gone there to achieve. And at the end of it was pure satisfaction and bliss.
