Why ABG is big in my life?

As I look back to my school days, I can recall the brands I loved be it fashion or food that had made my childhood awesome. I didn’t realise it then, But now I can see that a big chunk of those brands came from the Aditya Birla group. Mummy used to wrap the rotis and veggies in the shiny aluminium foils from Freshwrap and Superwrap for my lunch box. I used to visit my grandpa in summer vacations he loves farming and I now know the importance of the Birla Balwan fertilizers in his farms. Clearly ABG has contributed in making my childhood beautiful. Fashion and accessories are very important in the life of any college student, I loved to buy shirts from Peter England, Trousers and Chinos from Allen Solly. I managed to buy clothes from Van Heusen and Louis Philippe from my pocket money savings, Pantaloons mall was a landmark and the favourite shopping destination for our college gang. I being a mechanical engineering student was well aware and used to read about the mechanical companies such as DHIL, Hindalco Industries, HAAL and EMIL these companies continue to serve India with their services and products. Of course, my first mobile connection was Idea, I have sent thousands of messages through the SMS packs and have watched many videos and movies using the Idea Internet Network, I am a proud user of the IIN.

Challenge in my life and how I overcame them:

The challenge I would like to talk about here was the challenge of transition from a mechanical engineer to a serious Analytics professional. I was working as an employee of Reliance Retail in the Analytics team prior to that I was working as a database developer with Capgemini in the Insights and Data department, I have received the Project Star, Rising star and many more awards during my tenure in these two companies and I am a mechanical engineer by education. I was completely unaware of SQL or anything to do with IT and found myself in the Capgemini training centre taking classes in subjects like ETL, Analytics and databases. It was very difficult to even begin to understand the concepts, I decided to take this as a challenge and prove to everyone in my class and office that a mechanical engineer can do well in Analytics. I approached my trainers and explained them about my problem, all of them agreed to give me the access to software tools through their personal id’s and systems for my practice, Our data modelling teacher Mr Manoj Kumar took extra classes for me as well. At the end of 3 months of my training I scored the highest in my class and was ready to face real life Database projects. I am extremely thankful towards my trainers, teachers and project managers for carving a fine IT guy out of a Mechanical Engineer.
