Stephen Coven has rightly said ‘We develop our character muscles by overcoming challenges and obstacles’. What and Where I am today, I entirely owe this to the life changing decision that I took. In my second level of CA, I decided to quit. The subjects never seemed interesting to me and there was this constant question in my mind as to ‘Why am I doing this?’. In the midst of my preparations for my IPCC exams, I decided to join AIESEC – The Biggest Student Run Organisation globally. After my interview at AIESEC, interviewer asked me as to why am I doing CA when I can do something worthwhile in field of Marketing and that question just hit me hard. That’s when I decided to explore the field of Marketing. I was selected in PR domain of Marketing in AIESEC and later I decided to learn Digital Marketing as its an upcoming field in this domain. To get more hands-on experience before taking this decision that would define my life, I decided to intern in sales department which included lead generation and lead conversion. Finding myself comfortable in this role and more importantly enjoying it, I decided to research about MBA, PGDM and other opportunities in this domain. After my IPCC results and a research of about a month, I decided to break the ice about changing fields to my parents with well thought and defined plan of action. Seeing me today at NMIMS, Bangalore living an independent, confident and happy life, they know that I took the right decision at the right time. Those 2-3 months were hard when I didn’t have a purpose in my life but seeing today where I am, I think all of that was worth it.
