Why ABG is big in my life?

From the clothes that I wear to the telecom service I use, Aditya Birla Group is ubiquitous, and not just in my life. Aditya Birla Group is one of India’s largest companies and works in a variety of sectors, namely, banking, carbon black, cement, fashion, financial services, metals, textiles and chemicals. It is an eminent name, not just in India, but worldwide.

The reason why the Aditya Birla Group is big in my life is because of how omnipresent it is. It produces numerous products and houses numerous brands, and I’ve been using its products, sometimes without even realizing that they belong to the Aditya Birla Group. Being the shopaholic that I am, it is difficult to imagine my trips to the mall without getting a bag full of clothes from Forever 21and Pantaloons. The other major impact of ABG in my life is how it has reduced the distance between my family and I. I joined business school last month and had to  move to an entirely new place, but high speed internet and uninterrupted cell service has made it so easy to contact family and friends, thanks to Vodafone Idea Limited.

The list of products by ABG and their impacts in all our lives is endless. Leaving that aside, ABG has also contributed towards development of the society through its CSR initiatives and made a difference in India’s healthcare, education and infrastructure. Such initiatives are important for the society and shows that a business can contribute towards the society and still be big.

 Overcoming challenges

I recently came across this quote saying, “Challenges are what make life interesting and overcoming them is what makes life meaningful.” I am a firm believer of this idea. There is not much to life if there are no challenges. Life would be one dull journey without the obstacles.

The biggest challenge I’ve faced yet is entering a business school. The multiple levels of evaluation, the cut throat competition, the uncertainty, the pressure – the entire journey was a roller coaster of emotions. The whole process not just tested my intelligence, but also my ability to handle pressure, how to deal with failure and has taught me to just keep going. It has helped me grow as a person.
