Anxiety is much more than being worried and stressed and it is extremely important to pay attention to your mental health, are two things I wish I had known sooner.
It is common to feel anxious about certain aspects of your life, however, being stuck with that feeling for a long time is not normal and that turned out to be quite a challenge for me. For me , it was about feeling unwell even though I logically knew I was perfectly fine .A constant headache followed me everywhere I went and it took me a long time to understand what was happening to me and when I finally did, I decided to seek help.
Only recently, I was diagnosed with a General Anxiety Disorder. I never really knew what anxiety was until a few months ago and I also realised that it needed to be worked upon before it unfolded into something more.
Dealing with anxiety has been a process for me .The first and the hardest step was to accept that Iwas unwell and that I needed help .I am much better than I was before owing to the right resources, tools and support system that helped me take back control over my life . I have accepted that some days are going to be harder than others and that it’s a part of the healing process. It still manages to creep in occasionally at inopportune moments , but the good thing is that I’ve learned to breathe through the chaos.
