PART - A

A company which has many things rolled into one. A Fortune 500 company with an enviable net worth of US $44.3 billion, a brand that has immense growth over last 15 years and a humongous conglomerate that caters to the needs of every person. Aditya Birla Group has etched a name for itself in the Hall of fame of Indian corporates.

Its tagline ‘Taking India to the world’ is quite famous all over. ABG takes tremendous pain to make sure its commercials are clean and family-friendly in an expletive-ridden Ad-space. Aditya Birla Group, ever since it was founded in 1857, has always been striving to deliver superior value to the customers and the society as a whole. Allen Solly, Hindalco, Louis Philippe, Pantaloons, Peter England, Ralph Lauren, Ultratech Cement, Van Heusen are all brands that everyone knows of and whose products people much prefer to products from other brands in the same sector.

Idea Cellular, after the merger with Vodafone India is now the largest telecom company in India in terms of revenue and subscribers. ABG with 149 years of its existence, be it finance, retail, fashion, manufacturing or telecom has marked the epitome of success.

For me ABG group has always taken an important part of my life. Most of the times as a child I was unaware of the fact that I was using a product by ABG. Let it be a house built by Ultratech Cement or a T-shirt purchased at Pantaloons. It is now when I look back at my childhood, I came to know that majority of my materialistic things had ABG’s presence. Having a family where my father has to travel a lot and stay away from home many a times, ABG has played a vital role in connecting our family in terms of Vodafone-Idea network. Not just ours but ABG has successfully connected millions of families in India.

PART - B

10 years ago, I was forced to participate in an elocution competition. Being in 5th standard all that I was given to talk was on the topic “My Favorite Animal”.  All I was supposed to do was to speak on it for 2 minutes. All I managed to do was stand straight for 2 minutes. What I managed to say was “Thank You’. I experienced students laughing and making fun every where around. I came back running to home with a decision. A decision to never step into stage ever in my life. That fear stayed into my brain all over then. 5 years later I again tried to step out of the fear. I again participated in speech competition. This time I came prepared, confident and ready to speak affluently. Again, I was able to speech the way I thought to, I fumbled and talk in a way where no one was able to understand. This was the time where my confidence completely broke down, not just because I felt I am not good at public speaking, but now also the people around me started believing the same, even my parents believed the same. People started believing that I am someone who isn’t made to connect with people, I am someone who can’t just speak in front of public. This event had a complete opposite reaction. This ignited a spark of fire inside me. After this event I tried public speaking, I participated in various debates, competition, I failed and failed and again stood up. At the end I honed my speaking skills to the level that I was elected to host the annual event of our college. But in this I gave upon giving up.
