Aditya Birla Group has been serving generations since its inception in the nineteenth century itself. At present it has vast number of products in various fields like cement, textiles, agribusiness, telecommunications, retail and many more.
Its immense contribution in the current generation’s lifestyle is worth giving attention to. Let’s go one by one. The Aditya Birla Capital Limited (ABCL), which holds all the financial services, includes protecting solutions i.e. numerous insurances like Life insurance, Health insurance, motor insurance, travel insurance, etc. In investing solutions, it provides mutual funds, pension funds, wealth management, stocks and securities and real estate investments. In financial solutions, it provides home finance, personal finance, loan against securities and real estate finance.
Next comes the Aditya Birla Fashion and Retail Ltd. (ABFRL), which includes the leading fashion brands like Louis Philippe, Allen Solly, Van Heusen, Peter England, etc. This provides us with some excellent clothing options which are elegant and trendy.
Coming to the construction materials, it has a subsidiary UltraTech Cement Ltd. The products offered by this subsidiary are grey cement, white cement, concrete, etc. Then in the networking and communications, it has Vodafone Idea Limited, which is serving us with cellular services, fast data services and many of the other facilities.
Aditya Birla Payments Bank Limited (ABPB) is an installments bank begun as a joint endeavor by Aditya Birla Nuvo Ltd. furthermore, Idea Cellular. Propelled on February 22, 2018, it is the fourth installments bank to start tasks since issuance of licenses to 11 firms by the Reserve Bank of India in August 2015. Installments Banks are an extraordinary classification of banks that can acknowledge stores of up to 1 lakh yet can't give advances or Visas.

Talking about my journey of accomplishing dreams while overcoming the challenges lying on the way, let’s start with the higher secondary education. So, after getting the SSC results, I met with a bike accident in which my knee got injured. This made me unable to walk properly and hence was advised bed rest for a month. Now in this phase I missed on the fundamental lectures of Chemistry while in Class XI. Resuming back to studies, it was quite hard to catch up with the subject as I missed on the basic fundamentals, scoring below average marks in the following exams. Kept trying but couldn’t improve much in the same year. Coming into next year, I worked hard towards the subject, gave extra hours every day, studied multiple books to become flexible with the concepts, and finally resulted in the top 0.1 percentile certification from CBSE in AISSCE 2011 – Chemistry.
Well, opportunities come far and rare and we should make the most of them. After completing graduation, I had a desire to go into teaching profession and side by side preparing for the next dream, which was pursuing MBA. While in job of teaching, it was difficult to manage time for preparing for MBA entrances (like CAT, XAT, etc.). Unlike usual present generation jobs, the education institutes provide just one day leave in a week. Then the drawbacks of this industry lie in the short-term courses (or crash courses) offered to students for competitive exam preparations. Now this phase turned out to be even hard, no less than a herculean task. Giving 12 hours to work every day for two continuous months, that too without a single leave, took me away from my dream of pursuing MBA. In such a situation, I completed the short-term courses’ phase and resigned from the job, for preparation of management entrance exams. After a certain period of time, I got admission calls from KJ Somaiya, Fore School of Management, Great Lakes, and Goa Institute of Management. From these I chose Goa Institute of Management and am currently pursuing the 2-year flagship PGDM program here. So this is all about my journey till date, my accomplishments, while parallelly overcoming the challenges coming in the way.
