From the construction of Mumbai’s Bandra Worli Sealink to the carbon nano particles that are used in tyres, Aditya Birla Group is a global conglomerate which has a widespread penetration in a variety of sectors ranging from apparels to textiles, cement to telecom, agribusiness to finance and much more.

I think about buying clothes, Pantaloons, Hackett, Linen Club, Planet Fashion are the answers. I think about buying formals, Van Heusen, Louis Philippe pop up in my mind. The food packing in my tiffin is done mostly using Freshwrapp. The food is also sprayed with fertilizers which in high likeliness comes from the company. The mobile phone I use has a Vodafone-Idea connectivity. The connectivity provided is the best plus it gives a superfast internet experience. The roads that we drive on are made from UltraTech Cement and concrete. The presence of Aditya Birla Group is so far reaching that we almost fail to realize the variety of sectors that the company operates in.

The construction of my house involved using a variety of their products from white cement to grey cement to concrete to tiles adhesives to waterproofing products. The construction of house also involved requiring capital and for that, Aditya Birla Capital provided us housing finance. The company was the major player in shaping our dream of owning a house. My father, being an iron and steel trader has a lot of work done from Essel Mining and Industries Ltd which is among India’s largest iron ore mining companies. The copper fittings in ACs, wires and cables to asset management services by Aditya Birla Capital, from luxury shopping at Collective, Ted Baker and Simon Carter to insulators used in transportation and distribution of electricity, you name any sector and Aditya Birla would be amongst the major players in it.  Even the logo depicts the evolution of the company into a global conglomerate.

Through this article, I would like to express gratitude to Aditya Birla Group for providing us a variety of products and services. It is almost unimaginable to imagine a world wherein there is no presence of the group.

Thank you, Aditya Birla Group.

PART B:

Overcoming challenges, conquering ambitions

I graduated from Delhi College of Arts and Commerce, University of Delhi after completing B.Com.(Hons) in 2018. I was a part of Mercado- The Marketing society of Delhi College of Arts and Commerce. The society was involved in organizing various marketing related events. We were scheduled to organise an event for Komercio- The Annual Commerce fest of the college. I was given the opportunity to lead the team and was made the event leader for the event. I had a team of 15 people who I was leading. Almost 20 days before the event, we started working on the ideation for the event. We thought of various ideas and eventually finalized a prehistoric based event which involved trading in terms of wood, gold and food with the aim of setting up of basic amenities that are required at the start of any civilization. We were almost done through the planning of the event with a week to go. Then we came to know that one of the other societies was working on a similar event idea and they had also released the posters and video teaser regarding the event. We tried contacting them but to no avail. We were forced to scrap our event. With just a week to go, we had to start from scratch. It was also the time for holidays and only a handful of team members were available. We started with the re-planning of the event. In about 3 days of work, we could form a structure for the event. It was an event by the name of “Start-O-Sphere”, an event wherein you had to acquire necessary infrastructure at the starting of your start-up journey with limited capital. I worked day and night for the event and along with the cooperation of my team members, we were successful in executing the event. There was a tremendous amount of pressure that we had to work under, but we finally overcame the situation and our event was among the most successful events held with maximum amount of participation. I was proud of the efforts that I had put in and was applauded by my team as well as the various teams that participated.
