Part A Why Aditya Birla Group is big in your life

Do More. Save More, Beginning of New Things, Build Beautiful, What an Idea Sirji. These are some of the common dialogues we come to hear while watching television or Youtube videos. These all fit into the basic amenities of modern mankind. These all things are provided single handedly by Aditya Birla Group (ABG) through the brands such as More (Roti), Peter England (Kapda), UltraTech Cement (Makaan), Vodafone Idea (Cellular network and internet).

ABG has tried connecting people of India with the idea of Vodafone Idea Limited. Today everything is online whether it is education, shopping, grocery or food. These changes in our modern life has impacted us via increased usage of internet, cheaper data plans and free calling. This has increased our trust and faith in ABG because of the uninterrupted network they provide.

I belong to a family where my father is a Civil Engineer and since my childhood days, I have seen my father building homes, roads, dams and canals with the most trusted brand Aditya Birla-UltraTech cement earlier known as L&T cement. It has been Engineer’s Choice since then. Not only the name has changed but the quality, technology and manpower has improved since Aditya Birla has taken over. The company is working hard and smart to fulfill its vision as “The Leader in Building Solutions.”

Talking about the fashion street, ABG owns people’s interest like Pantaloons, Louis Philippe, Allen Solly, Van Heusen, People, etc. People is one of those affordable brands which one can look for buying if someone is conscious about both variety and quality. Back in the days when I started my job with Infosys Ltd., I bought a Louis Philippe T-shirt from the first salary that I received and that t-shirt is still my favorite. Let’s move to the International Fashion where it provides us with a wide range of formal wear which can be worn at any business meeting, or any interview. Around a few days back, I visited Peter England outlet and I was stunned by the available varieties, that too at an affordable price. This is what is luring customer attraction towards ABG products as they are delivering both quality and quantity in a single plate.

The Corporate Social Responsibility initiatives that ABG has implemented in fields of education, health- care, infrastructure support and agriculture is winning hearts all over India and this graces the omnipresence of ABG in entire India. This in itself is a reflection as to how much big as an organization ABG stands and how much India needs it.

Part B-How you overcame challenges to achieve your ambitions in life so far

You should never view your challenges as a disadvantage. Instead, it’s important for you to understand that your experience facing and overcoming adversity is actually one of your biggest advantages.

-Michelle Obama

If you consider a challenge as an opportunity to learn, you will never back down and most importantly you will never give up. This is what life has taught me at every step and believe me when I say I have learnt it the hard way. From my school days till my work days and again to MBA days one thing that has never stopped is learning. Every day I learn something new and even if I commit mistakes, the process is reiterated and from mistakes I learn something new again.

I joined Infosys Ltd. on 29th August 2016 and once I entered the huge campus of Mysore, I was filled with joy and extreme happiness. The beautiful campus provided relief from homesickness. I felt that I was back home again. But never was I aware about the rigorous curriculum they follow to convert you into a product. From Day 1 I had to abide by a stringent set of policies which included wearing formals for 8-10 hours long induction program and running between the classes, canteens and hostels throughout the day and night. Gone were the days of glory which I enjoyed during my college days. I thought job life to be very lucrative but never paid attention towards the responsibilities that came along. I was a student from non-technical background so I had to do double work to level up with the rest of the candidates training with me. There were days when I often thought of giving up, quitting the job and going back home again but whenever I thought about quitting I heard a noise whispering in my ears “till when?” This was the only question I was never able to answer and this is what made me work really hard. This very question was the reason I started focusing on the materials they provided as part of training and steadily I started understanding the concepts. I had some great companions who were always there to help me accomplish my tasks but yes majority of it was my individual effort and I am still proud of it. I passed the training in first attempt with flying colors and mere words won’t be enough to describe that feeling.

Life is very hectic and fast. But sometimes when one slows down and thinks about the past, one actually realizes what all things it has taught you till date. My training not only provided me with adequate skill sets but also made me understand the importance of team work, discipline, professionalism and leadership qualities and it provided me with my ultimate goal to pursue management.
