Why Aditya Birla Group Is Big in Your Life?
Being the 3rd largest private sector conglomerate, Aditya Birla Group has played a big role in my life one way or another. Be it their cement or their retail fashion brands such as Pantaloons, Louis Philippe, Allen Solly, Van Heusen or their financial services Aditya Birla group has always been an integral part of my life.
Fashion:
I remember Pantaloons being one of the big retail stores I visited in the early part of my life. I still remember the excitement when I got my first branded t-shirt from one of the stores. After so many years this bond is still strong. I own many Van Heusen shirts and wearing them gives me a strong sense of confidence.
Recently, I finished my summer internship and earned my first stipend, so I thought of gifting my parents something from my first earnings. I gifted my father a Peter England shirt, seeing the happiness on his face made me really proud and happy about it.
Telecom:
Idea (Now Vodafone Idea Limited) being one of the biggest telecom company in India also played a big part in my life. I still remember all those iconic advertisements that Idea released on television such as Walk and Talk, What an Idea Sirji, etc. Even now when I am majoring in marketing from MDI Gurgaon, I still refer to the way Idea was successful in making awareness and market its products through these advertisements and marketing campaigns.
Financial Services:
I have invested in multiple mutual funds schemes, one of which in Aditya Birla Sun Life Mutual fund, in fact, the first ever mutual fund I invested in. I still own it as it is giving amazing returns and looking forward to keep investing in it for a long time.
How Have You Made An Impact?
I believe my biggest achievement till date has been getting out of my comfort zone and managing an event which I never thought I’ll be able to do because of my introverted nature. The joy I felt when I successfully co-ordinated a four-day event in our college fest within a short notice has been unmatched. Despite time constraints and financial challenges, I managed to recruit 25 volunteers and completed all preparations within time. My perseverance bore fruit when it turned out to be the most liked event with the highest number of participants.
This experience helped me a lot in achieving my dream of doing an MBA degree from a reputed B-School. During the four years of my engineering, I realized that I liked to interact with people more than computers and management is something I enjoy but being introverted in nature, it was difficult for me to initiate a conversation with someone new but successfully managing 25 volunteers and working with them for over a month to conduct the event helped me realize my leadership, creative and critical thinking skills which are an important part of management.
I cracked CAT in my first attempt in 2017 and being a 99%iler helped me in getting a lot of interviews from top B-Schools in India one of which is MDI Gurgaon. Due to the experience I had in my college, I was able to perform well and crack MDI’s GD and Personal interview process. Finally, realizing my dream.
