The products of the Aditya Birla Group are synonymous with great quality and value for money. As a person who uses various products of ABG I am extremely satisfied with them and also proud that an Indian company has reached such heights of success. I have been using IDEA mobile connection since 2011. It is the 1st sim card connection I took and it is still the only SIM that I use today. When JIO came into the market, even though many of my friends switched to JIO I still stuck to IDEA. The reason being the super quality of connection and service I got from IDEA all over Kerala. And who can forget the IDEA TV commercials. They are very empowering along with being a great marketing strategy. For my B School interviews, I had to wear formals and I always made it a point to buy Louis Philippe blazers and trousers. They always are of superior quality and always gave me great satisfaction with respect to fit and finish. If you look around you can ABG’s products everywhere. Let it be construction of buildings, roads, roofing tiles, fashion industry, steel, recycling of can etc. My Uncles house was made with UltraTech Cements and I remember asking him why he is not opting for Malabar cements which is widely used in Kerala. He gave me the reason that I already knew. Like every other ABG product, the quality of cement was high. Through their Great number of products across different sectors, ABG is reshaping the lives of people without them even knowing it and thus transforming them.
I had the dream of getting in to a good reputed B School. I did B.Tech in Electronics and Communication from a good private college in Kerala. I stayed in the college hostel in the 1st year. The first time I was staying away from home and that gave me a sense of freedom. I had lots of fun and my studies took a backseat and as a result of that I got bad grades and failed in some subjects. It was in the 3rd year that I realized how foolish I was being. I had many backlogs by then but I decided to become serious and concentrate on my studies and better my marks. I studied harder and cleared my backlogs systematically. I had just one backlog when I passed out of college but I couldn’t join any B school in 2016 because the result for the exam was not out. So even though I had good percentiles in the management entrance exams I couldn’t join anywhere. Determined to realise my dream I decided to write the exam again the next year. I went to Bangalore where my brother is working, I stayed with him and went for coaching again. By this time result of the backlog from engineering was out and I had scored well. I got dengue fever 2 months before CAT and that affected my preparations. I wrote CAT, XAT, CMAT and other exams again in 2017 and got better percentiles. I applied to some of the premium colleges in India, went through the GDPI process and was waiting hopefully for the results to come out. To my shock I did not convert any colleges and I was devastated. My parents were pressurising me to get into some college and do MBA. I was in a dilemma. I wanted to realise my dream but the fact that I have to wait for another year sounded scary. Finally, I decided after much thought to give it one more try. I came back to Kerala and got into a showroom sales job. I worked there for around 9 months and studied simultaneously. I resigned 1 month before the exam and gave all the entrances. I got very good scores in XAT, SNAP and CMAT. I applied to different colleges and converted most of them. And I finally got into Goa Institute for Management. I was felicitated by the Coaching institute for my achievement and my photo came in the newspaper ad by the institute. My parents were really proud and that gave me great satisfaction. My learning from this is that no matter whatever roadblocks come up in your way, it can be overcome by willpower and hard work.
