The Aditya Birla Group the four-generation family empire has been the building block of India for more than a century now. Aditya Birla Group is the third largest Indian private sector conglomerate after Tata Group and RIL. ABG has diversified in multiple sectors such as fiber, metal, cement, viscose filament yarn, carbon black, chemical, fertilizer, insulator, financial services, telecom, BPO and IT services. It is having a revenue of around 45 Billion Dollars and also providing employment to more than 1,20,000 people. The group's flagship company Grasim Industries Limited is now a global leader in the staple fibre viscose. Since then the Birla Empire has only grown to be included in the league of fortune 500 companies. In the early years of the twentieth century, Narayan Birla's grandson Ghanshyamdas Birla established businesses in critical sectors such as textile and fibre, aluminium, cement and chemicals.
There is rarely any sector left where ABG has no presence. Talking about my personal bond with ABG is that my first sim card for my first mobile phone was IDEA. Aditya Birla is the largest fashion brand in India. I use the cloths of - Louis Philippe, Allen Solly and Peter England brand which are run by Aditya Birla group under its fashion and retail division. Also ABG has strong presence across life insurance, asset management, lending, housing finance, equity, and several other financial services. Fertilizers and chemicals are other fields where ABG has strong presence helping farmers for better yeild in their farms.
In all ABG has contributed to the GDP of India since our independence by creating employment, also by providing required infrastructure, by increasing crop yield to feed the population of India.
