When it comes to touching millions you will hardly find very few individuals or organization doing so. But here is an Indian organization with a rising sun in the logo touching millions not in our country, but also globally. Yes, I am talking about Aditya Birla Group having market capitalization of USD 44.3 billion. Founded during the year of Sepoy Mutiny in 1857 by Seth Shiv Narayan Birla, this conglomerate has underwent multiple metamorphosis of time touching human lives across 14 such sectors in the field of Agribusiness, Carbon black, Cement, Chemicals, E-commerce, Finance, Mining, Retail, Telecommunications, Textile and Wind power under the supervision of Kumar Mangalam Birla.
And to be very honest, I am one of those millions which has been touched by Aditya Birla Group. First things that comes to my mind when I think about Aditya Birla Group is Aditya Birla Fashion and Retail Limited (ABFRL). With a revenue of Rs. 7,181 crore and a retail space of 7 million sq. ft. (as on 31st March, 2018), it is India's first billion-dollar pure-play fashion powerhouse with an elegant bouquet of leading fashion brands and retail formats. It gives me the coziest place to shop around with the likes of Pantaloons and Planet fashion which has a plethora of brands like Peter England, Louis Phillipe, Van Heusen, etc under one roof. And as you know clothing adds x-factor to your personality, I think Aditya Birla Retail and Fashion Sector did the same in my life!
With the likes of Birla Carbon, Conductex and Raven, Aditya Birla Group is ensuring they are also touching our lives through the tire and mechanical rubber goods sector that are used in the cars we ride and the machines that we use, it ensures the carbon black sector touches our lives and ensures the quality of life becomes better.
The biggest and I guess the worthiest contribution of ABG not only in my life but also in my family’s life is through the brands of Hindalco Everlast, Ultra tech Cement and Hindalco Eternia aluminium windows. Our house which happens to be the heaven for us on this earth is strongly built with the above mentioned three brands being the key player. With time, unconsciously the bond of ABG and me seems to be getting stronger with each passing day.
With the likes of Aditya Birla Idea Payments Bank Limited (ABPB) cashless transactions has been made it pretty easy and at finger’s touch. Now transferring money is at finger’s tip. All you just need to remember is the ID and password and “Voila! Payment is successful! ”.
I still remember the advertisements of Idea during my schooldays which was the most catchy of all. Abhishek Bachhan starred "What an idea, Sirjee" was so popular during that time, that for any out of the box ideas that was our go to slogan. But what was most important was that every advertisements came with a message of social awareness which touched the viewers from the age of 8 to the 80s. Now coming to the fact I was a teenager and had a constraint budget as far as my meagre pocket money was concerned , Idea was a saver for me as it gave the most cheaper tariffs with a quality network.
When I used to go to my school, rotis used to be a regular part of my school tiffin box. And guess what they used to be stale and biting it felt like leather. I think the line says it all how ABG has been accepted by more and more people over the world clearly shows its acceptability by the people and influence on the people. Hence, the “Rising Sun” keeps getting brighter and spreading more light in the life of the millions which of course includes me.
