A conglomerate which has been serving India since 1857, the Aditya Birla Group has interests in areas like branded apparel, Cement, telecom industry, financial services, chemicals, BPO etc.
Personally, the brands which I want to focus on are the most illustrious in the name of fashion and retail. Brands like Pantaloons, Allen Solly, Forever 21, People, Peter England, Ralph Lauren, Van Huesen are the testament to excellent retail practices and fashion forwardness. But what struck me the most was the customer relationship management practices which shined through ABG brands. Whether it was customer service during the purchase process, or after sales services, the training and values in the employees were clearly visible. In all, the way ABG succeeded in not only penetrating but setting the benchmark for fashion retail sector. The success story has been inspiration for me in terms of joining another industry, hard work and perseverance.
Another industry, addressing the Makaan part of my title would be the cement industy. Ultra Tech is a name synomous with foundation of a million homes in India. This brand signifies the importance of reliability and dependence in one's life. As one of the major companies in this industry, it has set a benchmark in the terms of quality and product value.
ABG also owned the Idea brand, before the merger, which did change a lot of lives across the world.
Coming to the Roti element the ABG group has employeed thousands of people across the country , fulfilling a lot more dreams and purposes for the society in general.
ABG Group has been a dream story for not only the leaders but also the public and I am pretty sure ,has a long way to go in inspiring this country.
