I have scored 80.XX%ile. what are some decent colleges in this percentile?

VistaMind - At 80%ile plus, there are colleges such as LIBA, IMI Kolkata (Check the last date), IMT Nagpur, FORE, BIM Trichy, NIRMA that you can apply to.

 

Question - Scored below 80%tile. How to go about for cat 17?

VistaMind - If you have decided to take up CAT 17, then I suggest that you contact Mr A Srinivas, an alumnus of IIM Indore and The ONLINE CAT Head of VistaMind. However, you may want to also check some colleges to apply to and go for interviews.

Question - Hello sir, I scored 60 percentile, and am deliberate to pursue MBA from top notch college, but my main concern is that I am self-employed but my business is not registered. What should I do along with preparing for CAT -17?

VistaMind - Hi, If you want to continue your business, then it makes sense to Register that. If it is a small business and can be done as a side business, then I recommend that you take up a JOB. Writing CAT without a Job for too long will be a detriment for admission to TOP B Schools

 

Question -  Hi sir, I have a score of 77 percentile in CAT with 2 years of work experience. I'm a female belonging to general category. And my DILR score: 50 %ile
QA: 67 %ile
VA- 89%ile
NMAT score - 191
Class 10 - 81%
Class 12 - 85%
Graduation Engg. - 77%
What would you suggest me to go with? Is it only fair to give another attempt? Do I have a chance at TAPMI, Great Lakes and BIM?

VistaMind - I guess you will not get any of GLIM, BIM or TAPMI. At 77 percentile, IFMR Chennai could be the best you can get. Others such as BIMTECH, IMDR and others are available!. NM Bangalore is possible.
Go to NM Bangalore. But, suggest that you may seriously think of writing the CAT exam again!

 

Question - 56.77 percentile, NC-OBC.. suggest me a good private institute which can help me with education loan too.

VistaMind - Almost No Private College gives any reservation. Is there any other criteria that you have for a BSChool? What is realistically expected package at the end of two yearS? What are your academic scores. ?

VistaMind - Hi, CAT percentile won't be of much use. Please tell me as to which part of the country you want to pursue? What Fees levels you are looking at and what is your expected salary (realistically) at the end of TWO years. I can help you then!

VistaMind - Hi, You would get a few colleges - Under SNAP: SIBM Bangalore/SIIB ; Under XAT, probably GIM, LIBA (If you have applied). At 78 percentile in CAT, you may apply to NIRMA, BIMTECH, IMDR Pune. You will get NMIMS Bangalore too. Go ahead and go for the Interviews. You can decide to join or not at a later date.

VistaMind - At 67 percentile, you may apply to BIM Trichy, NITIE, NIT Trichy. You may get a few ultra New IIMs depending on your Academic Profile!

VistaMind - It depends on what you want to do this year. If you have to get into an Institute this year, then share your Academic Marks. There are many institutes which do not take CAT scores. Also, which part of the country that you want to pursue your MBA in? What should be the Fees range? Your expectations at the end of two years MBA? We can help you based on these!

Question - I got 98.58 in CAT. No Call from A,B,C.. I already have 2.5 years of work experience. In case if I attempt again will my work ex be a problem? If that's the case shall I resign and attempt again? Will that year gap be a problem?

VistaMind - The IIMABC calls are typically at 99.5+. Also, it depends on your Acads too. Work-ex will not be a problem, Suggest that you apply to NITIE, IITB, D, KGP and get a final selection (in New IIMs and probably other IIMs too). Then you can take a call if you want to write again!

 

Question - Ive got 86.76%le in cat, 195 in NMAT, xat 27 marks. IIFT 44 marks. what is your advice? BTech passout 2016. 10th 94%, 12th 94% BTech 81 percentile.

VistaMind - Honest Suggest Nivin, Please write CAT again.  With you acad marks, you can get into the top institutes. You can apply to a couple of institutes and go for the Interviews!

VistaMind - You should get NMIMS Mumbai Call, TISS too. You should apply to a few more colleges like TAPMI, BIM Trichy, KJ Somaiya, NIRMA and then take a decision whether to write CAT again (in April).

VistaMind - You may get new IIMs/Ultra New IIMs, NITIE (apply). Probably even IIM Indore.

Go ahead for the Interviews. If you get Indore, take it.  
However, I suggest (with your acad scores), you should write and try to get 96%ile plus and get into A, B, Cs of the world!

Question - Sir, I was not able to write CAT this year, But I did write other MBA entrances and my NMAT score is 196 and I am even expecting a call from SIMS Pune (defense category)
Is NMIMS Banglore possible at this score and is SIMS worth giving a shot??

VistaMind - Ideally, you should not have a gap. But, if you can explain the reason (not preparing for CAT), then it is fine. They don't dislike. They may NOT like.

 

Question - In CAT I have scored OA-96.51, VR-88.86, DILR-96.01, QA-96.29, 10-93.1,12-81.12,GRAD-74.29. Will I get a call from IIM-Ranchi and Raipur. What other IIMs should I expect? 

VistaMind - I am afraid, you may miss the IIMs that you mentioned. Ultra New IIMs, possible. Apply to IIT KGP, Madras. NITIE (not a surety). There are however, other institutes such as IMT, XIMB and others that you will get a call from (if you apply).
