Owing to its vast product portfolio, Aditya Birla Group has always been an indispensable part of my life. As I recall the past, my first interaction with the group brings a smile on my face – it reminds me of the tasty dishes my mother used to wrap in “Freshwrapp” and pack it in a tiffin box during childhood. As I grew up, my interactions with the company increased. It became more and more exciting. From birthday gifts from my parents to my shopping, Pantaloons became an all-time favourite spot. Be it for an ethnic day event, a casual day out with friends or some trendy party, it has clothes, footwear, bags and accessories for all my needs. Also, buying gifts for friends and family has always been fun at Pantaloons because of its customer friendly service. Brands like Van Heusen and Allen Solly has always come to rescue when dressing up for any formal events like interviews, and going to office.

Mobiles phones have become a necessity in today’s world. I still remember the joy of using my first mobile phone in school with an Idea connection. The campaign “What an idea Sirji” is still engraved in my mind. The creative way in which different ads of this campaign were run have won hearts of many viewers. After Idea-Vodafone merger, the telecommunications company has further improved its services and its presence in the telecommunications market. Further, Novelis and UltraTech Cement both are an inseparable part of our lives. Most of our houses are made of UltraTech cement because of its superior quality. Whether consciously or unconsciously, we have used aluminium products made of Novelis Aluminium sheets – one of them is the beverage cans.

Ambition in my life has always been simple – to strive to be at a better position than I am at today. This requires a continuous self-introspection and working on my shortcomings. Taking part in the extra-curricular activities, especially in organising events interested me. The first official event that I worked for, was my school’s annual fest, Chiaros Quro. While preparing for the fest, I realised the importance of communication and how the most important task to make an event successful was the proper management of finances and people. To get sponsorships and invite guest performers for the fest, I worked on my communication skills so that I could convey my message with an impact. Another challenge that I faced was convincing my parents to send me to Delhi for my graduation. I had always lived a sheltered life during school and thus, my parents were apprehensive of sending me there because of the casualties occurring with girls. After a lot of discussion, I finally landed up in a new city with new people. Adjusting and adapting to the new environment posed new challenges and learnings. Down with dengue, I missed many classes and most importantly, tests and presentations. Away from home, it was really difficult to manage both, health and studies. After graduation, I had taken a break to stay with my family and also prepare for b-school entrance examinations. With CAT exam approaching, both my mother and my brother fell severely sick. Looking after them and preparing for CAT simultaneously was a difficult task. Even though challenges seem difficult at the beginning, they teach us lessons for a lifetime. The key to winning in life is accepting the challenge and working to overcome it – this is my philosophy in life.
