The journey of a firm which started with the basic Cotton Trading Operations in 1857 to the present US$44.3 billion giant conglomerate with operations across 35 countries, leading in aluminum, cement manufacturing, viscose staple fibre, carbon black, chemicals, copper, financial services, telecom, branded apparels, fertilizers, viscose staple yarn and insulators, is the result of determined long vision, perseverant efforts and go-getter attitude of the leaders since the organization’s inception.
The Aditya Birla Group(ABG), whose business arms and various brands are helping the people across the globe to improve their life quality and supporting them to bring better versions of themselves is highly commendable and the operation of 18 charitable hospitals run by the group, which serve more than a million villagers reflects the group’s commitment to not only improve their financial figures but also to work for the humanity. Today, the group include the world’s largest producer of carbon black and the largest refiner of palm oil. And it is also the largest Indian multinational with manufacturing operations in the US. And this phenomenal achievement of the group highlights India's industrial success in the business map of the world, and upon which every Indian feels proud and confident.
The “Aditya Birla Bizlabs”, the initiative by the group which works with start-ups in the retail, financial services and mobility businesses, where the group has a larger presence, is encouraging the start-up culture in India and this, in turn, is creating more jobs and opportunities. And this shows the group's focus to contribute to the nation's development apart from just concentrating on their P&L statement. Today when most of the world economies are fighting and finding solutions for the rising global pollution levels and degrading environment, Aditya Birla group’s strong sustainability goals among all of its business arms, set an example for other industry leaders across the globe towards green business management.
And all these facts and instances, give us an impression of the Aditya Birla Group as the one which is not just a business conglomerate working for financial profits, but one having long term concerns about the future of the people and the generations to come.
