Using foreign products has always been a status quo. Indian brands for most part were considered subpar. It is ironic that all the acclaimed and established foreign produce are resourced and manufactured in our own mediocre country. Aditya Birla Group changed that very notion. The group came up with a star line-up of brands that compete at the big leagues. People’s innate beliefs and ideas were shook and slowly replaced with the new norm. And this revolution has been cross domain from apparel brands like Allen Solly, Van Heusen, Forever 21 to cement makers like UltraTech Cement Limited.
Aditya Birla Group has not only ventured into core industries but made technology viable for a common man. For a daily wage earner, demonization was the toughest phase to get through. For a chai wala having an e- wallet not only cuts into his meager margin but also makes it difficult to reinvest the inflexible e- cash. Bhim UPI catered to those very needs and more. It acted as a bridge between a Bangalorean techie and his auto driver.
Aditya Birla Group has been actively listening to people and heeding to their needs since its inception. It is now an omnipresent facilitator in all walks of life.
Like ABG, the seemingly easy but life changing decision I faced was whether to choose MBA.
Why MBA? Why not MS? Why are you leaving a promising job? The four years of engineering is a waste? Finding answers to these and many more was one of the biggest challenges I have come across. Coming from a family without a business pedigree and wanting to start a company was considered a pipe dream. Having altruistic visions of removing plastic from packaging industry and implementing bio-mimicry didn’t help the case either.
Engineering. Unlike most I am a proud computer science engineer. And have been fortunate enough to study amongst exceptional professors and peers, who understand that at this age, computer science and engineering is the omnipresent layer which interconnects everything irrespective of the industry. Solving world problems with mere 0s and 1s, is no less than a superpower.
Job. Realizing your dream goes a long way than a lucrative job perks.
MBA. A computer techie into manufacturing industry. MBA provides you with tools to actualize the theories and make that into a reality.
The first step of this work in progress dream has been to get successfully inducted into entrepreneurship cell of the college. Inception of all great works starts with a thought. And I have overcome that challenge.
