Stratospheric heights and silent prayers - MDI Gurgaon

The tall silhouette of the Four Seasons Hotel presented an intimidating figure as my friends and I look up at the light blue sky of an early Mumbai morning. We had prepared our pitch to the Aditya Birla Group Stratos panelists and practiced it, multiple times. We watch in amazement at the ideas and creativity that was on show at the Aditya Birla Group Stratos 2018 finals. We were eager to share our ideas and thoughts with both the corporate as well as the student community present there. That was an amazing experience and a memory to cherish as the amount of learning and exposure we got from it was immeasurable.

The preparation for ABG Stratos was just as important as the finals itself. Not only was it my most memorable and involved interaction with the Aditya Birla Group as a brand (apart from being a Pantaloons customer of course), the case was challenging and it afforded us the opportunity to hone our skills in defining and solving business problems. We were also able to hone our presentation skills as well as work on our top down communication to succinctly put our ideas across to the panelists.

We unfortunately missed out on a podium finish, but ABG Stratos 2018 was a defining moment in my MBA journey as the learning curve we went through for ABG Stratos helped me perform better in my courses and my professional life during the summer internship.

Interestingly, ABG Stratos was not my first tryst with the Aditya Birla Group. My first tryst came in the form of ABG Woo Me Season 1 at the onset of my MBA journey. It is common knowledge that the first few months in the MBA journey is rather hectic. Amongst all the deadlines and learning objectives and cases, I wrote an article titled “Journey of becoming a ManDevIan”. Writing has always been a passion of mine and when I saw my article being published, it gave me pure joy. This inspired me to pick up the pen and write more.  I began blogging about football and my favorite club Arsenal on Sportskeeda and soon enough this became a respite from the hectic MBA life.

Soon enough, like most of my resolutions, I stopped blogging regularly. And I regretted it, everyday and yet managed to do nothing about it. When I was notified that ABG Woo Me season 2 was around the corner, I felt ashamed that I couldn’t stick to my resolve to write more often. I walked into my room, switched on the laptop and began writing, to share my tryst with the Aditya Birla Group and the impact ABG Stratos 2018 has had on my life. The pace of typing is reduced as my rusty fingers slowly become accustomed to the pace at which my mind races. The goal of my article isn’t just to share the impact the Aditya Birla Group has had in my life, but also a silent prayer in hopes that I continue to follow my passion for writing and sharing stories.
