Born in the streets of Old Delhi – Chandni Chowk, I was brought up in a joint family. As a family we always understood the power of living together and supporting each other. The home where our family has lived for ages eventually lacked the space for everyone as families expanded. A clear choice was to shift to a new place, away from the congested streets of old Delhi. The strength that we saw in our family was exactly the strength we saw in our home. It held together our family through the good and the bad times. Shifting to a new place was full of nostalgia. The place where we have ever since lived in, where there has been countless memories and all the childhood experiences, had to be left behind. Though we left the place, the strength of the family was something we never wanted to lose. A symbol of strength, UltraTech Cement is what once again supplied strength to our new house turning it into our home. It signifies the strength of the bond our family shares and gives us a sense of security.
Being at house brings in the true positive vibes in a person. Being in a home where you know you’re secure together, brings out the passion to strive for more. Moving out from the busy streets of Chandni Chowk to a place where the light enters the house, I felt a kind of positivity entering my life. It was a feeling where I wanted to be more than what I have been and a better version of myself each day. There are challenges we all face in our lives but I feel that the real battle is the one we fight within. The one where we decide to move out of our comfort zone and embrace the opportunities that comes our way. The impact that I feel I created in my life, and hopefully in the life of others someday, is to change my perception towards things and challenges that comes my way.
I had been an academically average scoring student. The idea of remaining just what I am secured a comfort zone for me. But as I moved out of the old house to a new house, I realized that sometimes, more often than we try, moving out of our comfort zones, can take us places we never thought we could be at. Sitting here in the hostel room of one of the top B-schools of the country, I look at the journey I have been through and the one that awaits. To get where I am today, my biggest struggle was to conquer the fear of MATHEMATICS. My childhood phobia of numbers, where I could see them dancing in the notebook like Ishaan from Taare zameen par. I knew that to move closer to my dream, a crucial step is to get over every fear that stops me. The importance of it in my life isn’t about what I have achieved , but rather about how I changed. My perception towards the struggles that comes in the path of my success changed and that is what I value the most.
Strength within us is what makes us who we want to be. UltraTech Cement, a symbol of strength is an example of how the strength that we carry and provide makes us stand out. The strength to create, the strength to build and the strength to add on to a greater self is what differentiates us.
For me the impact I created in my own life is by embracing the strength within and changing my perception towards things. For so much can we learn from what binds us and our lives. A bag of cement can too change your perception towards.
