People born in the 1990’s have had an opportunity to both witness and experience how the technological onset has brought about a huge cultural shift in the society as a whole. Belonging to a generation that had the privilege of living in both the eras of pre and post technological advancements, we have first-hand experience of being a part of both these worlds. Before social media came into existence we have experienced the joy and pleasure of playing and interacting with our friends only in the physical world and then later, after the advent of the social media, went on to connect with them over the virtual world, which came into existence and grew exponentially within the last 2 decades, thus helping in bridging the gap which often arises as a part of growing up and moving to different places.
As a part of this technological transformation, I got my first phone when I was in Class 10th. This was my first exposure to the ever evolving virtual world and Vodafone Idea Limited played a major role in connecting me to this new world. It was only because of Vodafone that I was again able to connect with people that have been an integral part of my childhood and somehow lost touch while growing up. Aditya Birla Group through Vodafone Idea helped me in growing my network stronger by connecting me to people with whom I lost touch. Now with old friends back, the future looks exciting.
Reality of life hit me hard when after completing my graduation, I joined my first job and had to move out of my home and live all alone by myself, and that too in a completely new city. Having lived all my life with my family, starting to live alone was a huge step for me. As much as I was excited to embark on this new chapter of my life, I had to leave a huge chunk of my life, the people — including friends, family and acquaintances, all behind. Even though I was striking new bonds of friendships, I was feeling distanced from all my old relationships that had been quintessential ingredients of my life up until now. Additionally, my work nature required me to work in rotational shifts, providing 24*7 coverage to my client. As a result, my working hours kept on changing on a routine basis and in turn affected my sleep and dietary patterns. It was during this phase that I decided to take the next step in my career and undertook the challenge of preparing and appearing for CAT. With my continuously changing work timings, it was really challenging for me to come up with a set schedule for exam preparations. In order to take on this uphill task at hand, the first thing I decided to do was connect with like-minded individuals, sharing the same goals. Eventually, I came across a group of friends preparing for the same exam, but were separated by distance as we all were living across different cities. Again, Vodafone Idea Limited came to my rescue, helping me build strong networks, and with the help of upcoming technological advancements, helped me connect and collaborate with my friends to meet the target. Thus, with my persistent efforts and never give up attitude, I, along with my friends, finally managed to tackle this uphill task while maintaining the rotational work time.
