The Aditya Birla Group- Yesterday, Today, Tomorrow, Forever...

It was last summer when I visited Birla Museum at BITS Pilani, Pilani Campus, where I came to know how in 1857, Seth Shiv Narayan Birla ventured into cotton trading and over the years the business expanded into various sectors  including cement, branded apparel, carbon black, chemicals, telecom, BPO, and IT services, etc. Aditya Birla Group is catering to the world's need from the past 162 years. Knowingly or Unknowingly each sector of the society is associated with the group and its products, be it Commuters of Bandra-Worli Sealink, Indian Railway passengers or the people at large whose apparel requirements are fulfilled by brands like Pantaloons, Allen Solly, PEOPLE, Van Heusen or Forever 21 to name a few.

Aditya Birla Group has been catering to my needs even before I was aware of it, from having my lunch packed in the freshwrapp to using  Vodafone-Idea Limited as the first network, from shopping from Forever 21, for parties, to business formals from Allen Solly, for MBA classes. Being the Indian Multinational Conglomerate which successfully managed to stand the tough times of The Great Depression, Indian Independence and Partition, wars and the recent recessions, there is a lot to learn on how to keep going and emerge even more stronger and determined to achieve what you aim for. This is clearly depicted by the company's vision and mission of being a global conglomerate with a clear focus on each of the business while providing superior value to its customers, shareholders, and society at large.

It's been said, When the going gets tough, the tough get going. During my college days, I was a part of the team that conducted a biennial conference for Research Paper submission, authors from all over the country were present and just before the commencement of the event we were informed that there will be a power cut for the coming two days.  It was a panic situation and a lot was at stake, arranging external power source in such a short period of time, changing the venue and informing the guests and the authors about the changes for each event and adhering to the schedule was an arduous task! But when the team is focused and determined to achieve the goal, hurdles act as stepping stones to success. We were successfully able to conduct the whole event within the stipulated time, the end wasn't as we have expected it to be, but the journey was way better than what we had anticipated: Thrilling and Adventurous.

To be successful in this fast-developing world, there isn't much time left to follow trial and error method, we have to learn to " learn from mistakes of others and implement its learning in our lives." And there is a lot to learn from a company that is as old as 162 years, how it has been able to keep up with the changing trends, taste, and lifestyle of its customers over the year. With Aditya Birla Payment Bank Limited (ABPB) new feature of using 'Mobile numbers as Bank Account numbers', one can surely vouch for its increased utility and popularity in the coming years. A great from the group is that Change is Constant, and one has to adapt and innovate new ideas to always stay in the league of winners.
