The journey of my internship began when I decided to join India’s first green B-school - Universal Business School. Then came the crucial moment the summer internship project but luck doesn’t seem to favour me. I got into XYZ company but later I realised that it wasn’t the industry I wanted to join, so there were many ups-down between me and the placement coordinator of the schools. But as it is rightly said, all is well that ends well, and I got in Deloitte.

The moment I got a call from the company confirming my joining, I was on cloud nine as it is one of my dream companies. But then, it doesn’t end here. Just before joining, I got a call from the company saying that the project in which I was allocated had been cancelled and that I could join after a month. However, the dates didn’t go with the one allowed by the school. This shattered me completely.

But then I picked myself up and started searching for an internship. I came across an opening in ShineWing India, also a consulting company like the Big Four. I appeared for the interview and guess what! I cleared it! This helped me regained my confidence and soon I joined the company.

I was allocated in Risk and Advisory department. And on the second day of my joining, I was given a major project KPI audit of ABC company as an associate and I was quite overwhelmed. That was the time I decided to work hard and learn from every bit and contributed my best to the project. It is a 2.5-month internship and till now, I have worked on 3 different projects and it has definitely added a lot to my knowledge.

The best part of the day is the lunch break when all my colleagues meet each other, chat, talk about the World Cup matches and take out their frustration. There have been times when I got free by 7-8 PM, but waited for others and left together, standing by and listening to each others' rants.

There are few more days to go but I can definitely say this is a memorable life experience and I not only gathered practical knowledge but also learned that the corporate world can be fun too!
