Aditya Birla Group has certainly been successful to accomplish their vision of becoming a premium global conglomerate while focusing on each of their businesses. They have managed to deliver superior value not only to their customers but also the society through their extensive CSR activities. Founded in 1857 by Seth Shiv Narayan Birla, the group now operates in about 35 countries with an employee base of more than 120,000. They have carved their name in 14 industrial sectors and achieved global leadership in many of them. Whether it is to plan new enterprises, to buy companies, to expand current companies or to let go of businesses that are not in line with the philosophy of the brand, Birla has demonstrated what it means to be a leader.

They have been a part of our life knowingly or unknowingly for many years. Personally, my wardrobe has been full of clothes from Allen Solly, Forever 21, Van Heusen and Pantaloons. My Father is a big fan of Louis and American Eagle while my Mother has been a loyal user of Freshwrapp and Superwrap. The group's presence in our lives has been vast. Aditya Birla's amazing strategies have inspired us in many ways. The group thought that it would be comparatively easier to make higher investments in the core business of textiles and apparel, where profit margins are far higher than the low-margin-high-volume grocery format and expanded into the fashion and apparel industry.

Though Aditya Birla has faced tough competition in the past few years they have never failed to show their strength and thereby mentioned their position in the market. The group's working methodology and management strategies have been an inspiration for us as MBA students. Their journey truly shows, how they have managed to take India into the world and have been a large part of our small lives.
