How I overcame challenges to achieve my ambitions in life so far:
From as long as I remember, I had stage fright. Whenever I addressed a large number of people on a stage or even while giving a presentation in class to a smaller crowd, I felt anxious. My heartbeat would increase, and I would fumble and make silly mistakes.
Coming from a family of public speakers, my father is a professional trainer and motivation speaker and My sister is a debater, I felt out of place. I avoided public speaking for the longest time.
Once I came across Mark twain’s quote which said, "There are two types of speakers: those that are nervous and those that are liars." I started watching TED talks about people overcoming the same problem. I read articles and learned that the only way to get over your fear is by accepting it.
I started accepting my stage anxiety as excitement. I learned that by Knowing the significance of your message, finding humour in your situation and Embracing fear, you'll not only overcome your stage fright, you'll rise above it.
I am not a perfect or super confident public speaker yet but I am working on it everyday by not seeing this as a threat but rather a sense of excitement and am getting better at it.
