The Omnipresent ABGLP

We tend to associate the indispensable nature of someone to the duration we see the person around us during the day, or the role they play in making every day of ours function so smoothly. Well, did we just think about our mother? Undoubtedly, she is always around to make things just fine. Even today when I am sitting in Mumbai attending lectures and trying to pull off every project with good marks, I have tiny snacks that she had sent me, the clothes she made sure I had packed, and of course, the frequent calls I get that make my day just easily manageable.

That is the feeling brands invest in. That is exactly what Aditya Birla Group does. I take three hundred and sixty degrees turn and spot a number of creations of the group that make my life a lot simpler. From Aluminium to cement to the garments that I use, ABGLP takes care of them all, and once again, the magic of proximity casts its spell. The more I see it, the more I feel it, the more I know its worth. The brand makes sure that its offerings are present in every sphere where a customer’s need might arise.

That is How I Soar

Despite competition, ABGLP well managed to navigate the storm and keep its place in the market. It is difficult to keep up during competitive phases and such times raise a doubt on one’s caliber. There is always an undying need for visibility. This stems from a person’s fear of not being appreciated for the hard work put in. This ends up shifting one’s focus from the goals set, and as a result not achieving the very goals for which one seeks appreciation and visibility. I too have sailed through competition, especially during times when the number of persons I had to compete with was too large. Being someone who does not open up so easily and informally in a corporate space made it all the more strenuous for me to focus during my first job. I joined straight from campus with 59 others. There was no way that my work quality would be noticed and then considered good, I thought.

Though I was in a state where I had given up, I continued to work the way I worked. When the fear was gone and my focus shifted to what really needed my attention, my goal, I started moving towards being an example for the 59 others. My primary concern was to meet my deadlines and deliver error free work. I just did not want someone to rework on what was already completed by me, or wait for a submission from me well past the deadline. This helped me stay focused. Also, to maintain my level of concentration, I required small breaks every few hours. I utilized this time to meet new people, network with them, understand their profile and learn from the challenges that they faced. Slowly, this reciprocated into a routine which was a perfect mix of concentrated efforts towards my work and friendly relations at my workplace. I soon realized that when I stopped worrying about people’s perception about me and my end goal while I was performing my tasks, I stayed calm and soared closer to my target. One definitely needs to set goals. But just thinking about the goals will not fetch them. The need of the hour is to visualize the goal in the beginning, create an action plan and forget thinking about the goal while we execute that plan of action. We need to thus, forget about the results and their consequences for some time and focus on the journey. That is just how the universe functions. We need to give it all that it takes to make the ride joyful, and just when we immerse ourselves in the means, the end will come to us before we even realize.
