PART A

A gentleman’s attire is the most important part of his personality. Van Heusen’s formal shirts have been my staple when shopping for a formal occasion. They cover a wide range of occasions through their formal shirts line. Trust is essential because it has to be developed through experience. And my experience with Van Heusen apparel has been very good. It is a go-to brand for me, and has acquired a significant section of my wardrobe. I believe that Van Heusen is a testimony to the impeccable service of Aditya Birla Group. They have covered a lot of market segments through their various brands under multiple sectors of the industry. I would recommend van Heusen to my colleagues due to its superior material quality, durability, price, as well as after-sales service and offers. I have donned Van Heusen suitings on multiple occasions and I have been the recipient of many positive compliments for my attire.

PART B

I am a second-year student in one of the good b-schools in India. The journey of a b-school student is known to be tough, especially the first year. My b-school is known as one of the strictest in terms of academics out of the entire pool. Being a fresher and from social sciences background, psychology, in particular, the general set of courses scheduled for the first year was a quantum leap in terms of academic disciplines that I had faced previously. Coupled with multiple group projects, assignments, presentations, stringent and close deadlines, life, in a nutshell, was worse than hell. To top it all, the fun part was also tightly integrated within this humongous package – extra curricular activities, student clubs, parties, outings, relationships. It was hard for me to cope with the students in my class, in fact, the entire batch. Placement season just added to the pressure. I scored a 3.4 GPA in term I and 3.6 in Term II. The rule was that students scoring below 4.0 as the overall CGPA in first year would not be promoted to the second year – no provision of course “backs” or “remedials”. The third and the final term was the toughest in the history of our b-school – with 10 courses – and the flagship event of my club was also scheduled to happen in that term. It was like a whirlwind spiralling me down into an abyss – all would be lost if I did not make it. And to make it I need score a 5 GPA necessarily to average it out to 4.0 overall – a roughly 150% jump in one term.  I did not give up and lose hope, rather I patched myself up during the dark time and drilled on to the other side of the tunnel. I managed to score a 5.3 GPA in the third term and my overall CGPA became 4.2. I survived through grit and determination and now I believe in myself.
