Part A

The Aditya Birla Group has contributed a lot to the country ever since independence, some of their prominent brands include names like UltraTech Cement, Vodafone Idea Limited and Aditya Birla Capital. The group has branched out to a lot of sectors, one of the newer ventures being a 15 million pound scholarship for MBA students at LBS.

The biggest part that it played in my life was most likely the usage of the phone, with my service provider, as, in todays world, a smart phone allows an individual to have the world at their fingertips and the service provider makes it possible with the facilities they provide, specially the data services.

Another part would be the Aditya Birla Capital Group, one of the largest fund houses in the country offering a wide variety of financial products, as this allows individuals to invest their savings with relative ease and peace of mind.

Another few aspects where the group plays a major part in my life is apparels, with Pantaloons being a major shopping destination with the variety of choice and value for money that many consumers look for while shopping. They cater to the more formal needs as well with brands such as Allen Solly and Louis Philippe.

Another day to day use of their products would include the use of their foils for wrapping purposes in the kitchen, they being Superwrap and Freshwrapp and the love for travelling via road is also being catered to by brands such as UltraTech Cement, which make it possible for the structures to be built and stay strong allowing everyone to use them without hesitation.

Part B

There was a time post me finishing my 10th grade exams where I was extremely underconfident, and this was due to multiple reasons, some of them being having to change schools and being severely underweight. This phase lasted a lot longer than I had hoped for and continued into the first semester of college.

It was then that I had grown taller, and began to look even skinnier than I was, and post being taunted for the same reason for so long, I decided something needed to be changed, and made a promise to myself that I would not be the person I had been and would work on myself everyday.

The fear of visiting a gym because people may judge your appearance was a lot more than I had anticipated it to be, but the inner motivation compelled me to go everyday, and a lot of research on the diet was the counterpart, which was extremely difficult to maintain. Yet, slow and steady, over a time span of almost 22 months, the difference was visible, and my confidence was on the rise. The satisfaction of seeing results after having put in such hard work was immeasurable and the knowledge that it was only the beginning was nothing less than further motivation to work on myself.

The major learning I had from this experience was that life may not always be the way we hope for it to be, and it may not always be a smooth sail, but these are nothing less than learning opportunities for us and a chance for us to work on ourselves and be the best person we can be.
