Aditya Birla Group Winning Over Hearts

Aditya Birla group has touched the lives of millions of Indians ever since its inception. I am also one of those millions who was largely influenced by its brands. The group has a diversified business consisting of 14 industry sectors but the part that is close to me is Aditya Birla Fashion & Retail Ltd that sells in-house brands such as Louis Philippe, Allen Solly, Van Heusen, Peter England and People. These are the brands used by my parents. I’ve realized that they would blindly trust these brands for their quality, which is why these brands were my choice when I started shopping by myself without a guardian. The most special thing about Aditya Birla group’s brands is that their products have the power to leave brand loyal customers after just one purchase. I feel confident while wearing apparel offered by Aditya Birla Fashion & Retail Ltd (be it any of the above mentioned brands) because I am aware of the fact that I’m using a good quality, trending product that has the power to leave an impression on people. If I’m buying them because they are leaving a mark on me, then someone else is also bound to take note of it when I wear them. This is how this group won over my parents’ hearts. And this is how it is continuing to win over mine. The group has presence in other industry sectors as well and it continues to touch our lives in one way or another but the point is that I am glad to have a chance to experience this.

The Art of Winning Over Hearts

My parents have always encouraged me to support social causes that can make a change. The most challenging situation that I’ve encountered in my life was working in a non-governmental organization called ‘Rang Dey Zindagi’. The job of a member of the organization is to take weekly classes of the students of a government school in my city on the subjects of mathematics, science, and general knowledge. The challenge was not the teaching part. It was teaching the students, with completely different backgrounds and extremely different mindsets, who didn’t want to be taught because they do not really understand the importance of education in anybody’s life. To overcome this challenge, the thing that helped me the most were my interpersonal skills. I interacted with 10-12 years old children as a friend and then became their teacher to achieve the organization’s goal of inspiring them to think of a better future with an educated mind. It was quite difficult at first because the children were least interested in having a conversation with someone who seemed to be a student herself, let alone be taught by her and give her the respect that a teacher deserves. But trying to get them to open up taught me a lot of things about myself as well as about them. The lesson that I’ve learned from this challenge was how to fill the gap between the educated and the uneducated through effective communication. Small but calculated steps in the right direction can lead to better results.
