The Aditya Birla Group is one of the premier business conglomerate of India. It started as a Jute Manufacturing Company in 1919, and subsequently transformed it to a leading multi-product corporation covering varied business sectors. The group has been awarded with a number of accolades and awards for excellent performance in all sectors. The group is also involved with a number of community development work.

The story of my life sets of in Hyderabad where Aditya Birla’s share in cement market is more than a quarter. I was born in the year 1997, the same year in which the cement businesses of Indian Rayon and Grasim are consolidated into a single division of Grasim, the biggest restructuring ever by any corporate entity in India. As a child I always dreamt of having a big space for myself to play around and so did my parents dreamt of building their own home, they placed their faith in Ultratech cement. The millennial habit of wearing quality branded clothes had the same effect on me and pantaloons was the go-to spot for me where I find a range of clothing from diverse sub brands that combine elegance and freshness. Whereas my father had always preferred Peter England and Allen Solly. Aditya Birla Idea payments bank made it easy for seamless payments and made life easier now at all these stores and indulgences. I had to travel to Allahabad for my graduation, the journey for which takes approximately 24 hours. I used to browse internet and watch movies during the journey with Idea cellular network which provides high speed internet even in few remote areas and have some homemade food which my mother used to wrap using Freshwrapp that will keep my food fresh and healthy. There is no denying the fact that Aditya Birla Group has always been connected to me one or the other way.

My life graph has not always been a monotonically increasing function. It gave me a roller coaster ride post my graduation. A person experiences several tough situations in life, so did I. Eventually those experiences made me a better person and subsequently helped me grow. A quote by Dr. A.P.J Abdul Kalam has had the biggest influence on my life – “Dream is not that which you see while sleeping it is something that does not let you sleep.” And my dream was always to get into one of the top B-schools of the country. My journey towards achieving this dream started during my graduation. I started my preparation for MBA entrance examinations in the final year of graduation. But at the same time, I had to sit and prepare for companies during the final placements. I was also the training and placement coordinator of my college which further increased the burden on my shoulders. I couldn’t handle the stress and load of the situation and so I gave up on my preparation. Upon close scrutiny of my preparation, to zero in on the strategy for next year, I came to the conclusion that handling multiple tasks is the bigger problem I need to solve first and I decided to work in a reputed firm that helps me in understanding the nuances of the way an organization works. A few months into the job, I had started the preparation for MBA entrance examinations. Things started getting tough as the job consumed most of the time and that is when I had started prioritized things by making a daily schedule and strategically preparing for the examinations. I had learnt from the mistakes I made when I had faced similar challenges earlier in life, and the hard work paid off when I performed great in the entrance examinations and got an interview call from some of the prestigious colleges in India. The results were out and I got an admission in one of the premier institutes in the country IIFT-Delhi. Today I stand at IIFT with my head held high stepping forward into the next big stage of my life, which is what I have always dreamt of.
