The Massive Impact of Aditya Birla Group (PART A)
“At the stroke of midnight hour, when the world sleeps, India will rise to life and freedom,” thundered our beloved Chacha Nehruji’s voice, sending pulses of enthrallment through our very veins. And post this momentous night, India has never looked back. We have flourished and grown, like a butterfly from a cocoon, giving birth to some of the world’s finest industries since. Among these many stellar names, there is one name that stands the tallest – Aditya Birla Group.
Founded with top-notch value creation in mind, Aditya Birla Group is a jewel in the crown of the Industrial realm of India. It has carved quite a niche for itself not only in India, but all across the world, with a massive operating chain spanning over 34 countries , and a workforce of over 1,20,000 employees. With its wide-reaching customer policies and ever-expanding network, ABG has touched all of our lives in a significant manner, enabling them to be the leaders in many walks of life. It is the sheer quality of brands like Forever21, Allen Solly, Peter England and Van Heusen that have made them the world leaders in fashion retail across the globe. Likewise, they are also the number one in the chor-alkari sector, white cement and ready concrete mix, adding a few more feathers to an overly loaded crown.
However, what is most remarkable about ABG is how much they believe in giving back to the society. Going by the notion that we have not inherited this planet from our forefathers, but borrowed it from our children, they put high focus on sustainability, by going the extra mile to preserve the planet with successful initiatives like Novelis (recycling initiative), Green India, Indo Gulf (customized fertilisers), etc. They also believe that with great power comes great responsibility and hence believe in building a better India and hence put great focus on education, women empowerment, water and sanitation, etc, with their carefully designed and well implemented programs.
"You're my pumpkin pumpkin, hello hunny bunny" Wow, didn't that song just take you about eight years back? Blast from the past, eh? Yes, this was the famous advertisement by Idea Cellular and around this time is when I got my first phone. This ad had impacted me so much that I insisted on an Idea sim. My first sim was Idea and believe me, phones have changed, life has changed, but my sim preference has not - I still use an Idea sim.
And what an Idea, sirji, it was, to stick to Idea! It never disappoints.
Speaking of other good ideas, I love shopping! Forever 21 is one of my favourite places to shop. It has the most amazing collection of clothes, well suited to everyone's needs and fashion choices. Peter England and Van Heusen too are among my go-to shops, especially when it comes to shopping for formal attires.
Aditya Birla Group sure has been big in my life. It is their passion towards their work and commitment to provide what is the best that gives them the extra edge - why they stand out while thousands collapse!
How to overcome challenges (PART B)
The old adage that “Life is not a bed of roses” still holds. Challenges and obstacles are what make life what it is, and our ancestors were right when they said failure is the best teacher. I too have been faced with multiple obstacles in my life and there are some steps that I have taken to overcome them and, in this article,I would like to list some of these.
The first and foremost thing to remember while faced with roadblocks in our path is that obstacles too, are an important teacher. Like how a potter shapes mud into beautiful utensils, challenges mould us and turn us into better versions of ourselves and if we have this mindset of welcoming adversity, half the battle is already won.
A calm and composed mindset is yet another important factor. Whenever I am faced with an obstacle, I assure myself that the darkest hours are before dawn and this too, shall pass. The possibility of light at the end of the tunnel inspires me to push myself and deliver my best.
Let’s face it – no man is an island. Everyone should have what I call their ‘home team’ – ones they can rely on and catch you when you fall. For me, it is my family and a few close friends. They share my joy and sadness, cheering me on when I am doing well and pulling me up when I am feeling low. They are indeed my biggest source of inspiration and solace.
What I am going to talk about next may seem trivial to some, but it is a fact that a sound mind and sound body are interdependent. It is very important to keep yourself healthy and I make it a point to do yoga everyday as it helps relax both my mind and body, and this helps me stay positive.
Life is not a bed of roses. Definitely not. But it is important to remember that it is neither full of thorns. Overcome your challenges and rise up like a phoenix from the flames because the world, my friend, is your oyster.
