Packing, shifting and moving out once in 2-3 years has been a task. Each ID proof had a different address in them. It is a pain not to have a permanent address, a home where you know you can go back to. A dream of an entire family of wanting a home was waiting for long. But eventually, after a long stint in shifting, the dream was soon to be realized. However, uncertainty over the supply of raw materials, especially cement occurred during that period due to strikes. The issue persisted for more than 3 months without reaching any consensus. We were shattered to see the increase in cost due to this and it was very high. Distributors of various brands left us hopeless, except one, Aditya Birla Group’s very own Ultratech Cement. When we were left hopeless in midst of uncertainty and trouble, a helping hand in the form of Ultratech distributor approached us when he heard our trouble from the contractor. Even when other brands were not able to do anything, he offered us the required quantity by supplying in very small quantities through auto rickshaws and pick up vans. The highlight of this entire build up was yet to come. Seeing our dream has been in the pipeline for so long, he offered the cement at a price lower than what was prevailing in the market by taking a cut in his margins. This is something that go beyond business and following the values of the company through blood.
I am an avid rider travelling and exploring places. During such a trip, I encountered with an accident and broke by back. Being in bed for months just lying down, being dependent upon my parents even for my basic activities was embarrassment and painful. To ride again was thriving in my mind even when my doctor barred me from riding for 1 year. The struggle and desperation I had during this period cannot be expressed in words. I was eagerly waiting for continuing my passion. To regain my health, I had to go through rigorous exercising and physiotherapy. The days passed and I was recovering slowly. The sensation of riding again made me more focused on the recovery path. After working out for more than 6 months, I finally had a green signal from my doctor. But he told me not to do any adventure or off-road trips. But I was very clear that about a treacherous trip to Spiti Valley. I wanted to see whether I actually recovered and doing such a trip would confirm the same. I wanted to leave as soon as I can. I took the train towards Delhi from Thrissur, Kerala and then further proceeded to Shimla via bus. I took a bike for rental from there and started fulfilling my dream by enjoying my 9 days there to the fullest. I believe that anyone can overcome any challenge if their desire to achieve something is true and is ready to take any path that will fulfill the dream.
