Being an introvert, striking new conversations was always a trait which I never recognized and used it to full potential. Once upon a time in last 2 and half years, I stumbled onto an opportunity based on a word of mouth review of a volunteering site. Afterwards, I took up that and listened to people, I realised how good I was at listening and making conversations.

I initially registered in the 7Cups of Tea portal. They then trained me on various aspects of listening, counselling and the mental health issues. After I have been certified to conduct counselling sessions. I just remember my first ever appreciation after counselling, from then on something from inside propelled me to complete more than 400+ hours in mental health counselling and panning out to more than 1000 people. In the hindsight I just think, it was the feeling of achievement of motivating the people and making people happy after talking to me helped me to achieve one of the ambitions of volunteering

This self-learning of on how easily I can make meaningful conversations with others and affect with my positivity made me to passionately to do it. This aspect of improvement in communication has also allowed me to participate in lot of corporate competitions and supported my ascendancy in academia. This is how I managed to turnaround the trait which I thought was my biggest weakness into my big asset was a challenge I successfully overcame.
