The learnings from my formative years have played a key role in shaping my personality. Out of those learnings, one important learning has been to not associate myself too much with materialistic things. Yes, I am the less materialistic one .It is only natural for me to pay less attention towards materialistic things, let alone realise any impact they may have on my personality.

Now, when I turn back the hands of the clock, I find it astonishing that Aditya Birla Group(ABG) has been there, impacting my existence in one way or another. It all started with my tryst with a huge pantaloons store. There used to be a time, when most of my clothing need, yes the need! was being catered to by the pantaloons` store collections.

When one is at home, it is difficult to not to pay attention to activities involving the inflow of monthly ration and other food essentials. ABG`s More store was the preferred choice to meet these needs. I still remember my mother visiting the More store, more often than not on Wednesday (obviously, because of more discount). Then, how can I forget the first date. I still cherish that Louis Philippe Shirt with great memories. Somehow, that particular shirt gives me a perfect mixture of class and simplicity. Moving forward, such has been the impact of Aditya Birla Group that, when I needed Business Formals for my MBA, I did not have to think twice as regards to where to get them.  Van Heusen formals made their way to my wardrobe. My confidence gets a notch higher whenever I don those business formals. In future, I expect the impact of ABG on my life is going to manifest itself in more different ways, and this definitely excites me!

A life without challenges, is a boring and mundane one . The most challenging phase of my life has been when I was preparing for my CA Finals Examinations and CAT simultaneously.  Having cleared one group of finals in 1st attempt (May term), there was a rage inside to clear my second group in the forthcoming attempt. But I was also clear in my head regarding MBA. Hence, I had to make a strategy of how to go about the preparations for CA Final Group 2 and CAT, both of which were due in November.

The major challenge was that both the examinations required different strategies of preparation. While group 2 required more of hard work, CAT required more of analytical approach. After convincing myself about appearing for both the exams, I started dividing my time between the two. Time management was a real challenge for the tasks at hand. A whole lot of risk was involved too. The stakes were high. But, I knew that by hook or by crook I had to do it.

The preparations started. Nights and Days became somewhat equal. There were a lot of instances, when targets for the day were not being fulfilled and those in turn made me doubt my commitment towards my goals. But, somehow the patient self in me kept me going on. With the passage of time, I started feeling more confident about my preparations. And, I successfully appeared for both the exams.

When the results were out, I was ecstatic because not only did I clear my Chartered Accountancy, but also cracked CAT. The overall result is that today I am a part of the IIM Ranchi family with a new prefix(CA)added to my name. And, having overcome the challenge, I am ready to brace all difficulties that await me here during my 2 years of MBA in particular, and for life in general.
