PART B –
I would like to share two instances which I find most challenging in my life-
I lost my best friend in an accident and this experience changed my perspective of life. We always played together, discussed our studies and helped each other prepare for exams. She was excellent in academics and always had a zeal to perform, but she had to embrace death just before the board exams. I reran her death in my mind, unable to completely forget the sadness. To cope with it, I developed a belief that she's in heaven and someday I will see her again. I started sharing with my mother about all the happy times we spent together and it helped me feel better. She always pushed me to be the finest that I am capable of and with this realization I gave my best in board exam preparation.
The other obstacle that I want to share is that In the tenure of my last job, once while working in a project, just one day prior to the delivery of the product, last minute feature modification was to be made in order to fulfil requirement changes of the client. Even though we were ready with the code next morning, but we did not get enough time to test properly. The management decided to deliver the product without being tested. I found it morally incorrect and decided to talk to the project manager. I proposed him not to deliver the product rather request the client to grant one more day so that we can properly test our code as it is our duty to deliver quality product. After much deliberation, manager agreed to my proposal. Finally, we could deliver a standard product and gain the trust of our client. This helped to gain our company more projects from the same client.
The above two instances where I faced obstacles are in two different context – one personal and the other professional. But I always believe that whatever might be the obstacle, it is just one area of life. It’s OK to be sad, disappointed or angry at the problem, but positive people are also grateful for what they have and they don’t lose hope for the future and I strongly believe in being positive throughout my life.
The well-known adage that difficulties are essentially openings is valid. Effective individuals are not hesitant to fail as they attempt new arrangements and search for approaches to defeat the obstruction that is in their way and I attempted to pursue a similar rule. Sometimes to overcome difficulties we need to think creatively and be true to own self.
