It jointly owns India’s largest and the world’s second largest telecom company and is the nation’s largest cement manufacturer. From being a mere textile industry in 1857 to getting inducted into the league of fortune 500 companies, ABG has undoubtedly become a building block of India for more than a century now. From producing non-ferrous metals to producing textiles, ABG has a vision of being the premium global conglomerate and aims to reach for the sun. It not only focuses on producing new things from raw materials, but also recycles the used products to conserve the raw minerals and help clean the environment from toxic waste.
Aditya Birla Group has become an inevitable part of my life. From the clothes I don to the aluminium cans of refreshing soft drinks which are a part of my quotidian. Its textile retailer brand Pantaloons provide me with the one stop solution to every kind of attire I look out for in the market. Various premium clothing brands such as Peter England, Allen Solly, Van Heusen, Louis Philippe, etc. are the most trusted and tried brands for me when it comes to buying the apparels to don. India’s largest cement company UltraTech cement, a subsidiary of ABG has turned many projects such as Airports, seaports, national highways, state roads, dedicated freight corridor projects and several city metro project into reality.
The list is never ending as they also operate over 20 hospitals and conducts 5000 free medical camps every year in rural India. The ABG also runs over 56 schools and provide free education to over 20,000 students. There is a bit of Aditya Birla Group in every person’s life.
Challenges in life
Challenges are the essential life tools which hones and brings out the latent flair in you. The thumb rule here is to face it rather than dodging it, only then will the true self potential be revealed. Challenges are just like exams in our life which tests your learning from the lessons of life. Everyone has to face challenges in their life since they are born, be it small or big. So, not being an exception, I also faced many challenges in my life which made me the person I am today. The biggest challenge I had to face hitherto in my life was the time when I was doing the internship in Chennai with the Royal Enfield during my graduation period. All my friends had already made their minds of not doing the internship, as the end semester was just one and a half months away and what immediately followed was the exam of GATE 2018 for which we have been preparing together past one year. It was a tough call viz I had to go against the advice of my teachers, friends and parents as what they thought was, I would end up performing bad at the GATE exam or even worse- not qualify. I had a special connection with the automobiles since childhood and I wanted to go to the core of it and thus, left no stones unturned to pursue my passion during graduation period. This internship was very special for me as it was going to be an altogether different experience and I would get so much to learn from none other than the longest motorbike production company in the world- Royal Enfield. I made the call and decided to go for my hard-earned internship at the RE. Not only did I spend a great time there by learning new, interesting things and meeting new people, I also passed the GATE 2018 with flying colors. I worked arduously during the entire internship period and studied equally at my free time and proved everyone that passion clubbed with hard work can make look- difficult to achieve things, easy.
