Aditya Birla Group founded in 1857 is an Indian business conglomerate which is currently in its fourth generation. Grasim Industries Ltd was the flagship Birla group which was incorporated shortly after independence. The firm was into manufacture of textiles. The group is now doing business in various sectors like, non ferrous metals, cement, textiles, chemicals, agri business, carbon black, mining, wind power, insulators, telecommunications, financial services, retail and trading solutions. The nation's largest cement manufacturer is a part of this conglomerate.

I am sure the group has served to each and every people of the country through one or the other of its product or brand. Similarly it has been a part of my life too. Peter England has been part of my family for a while. My grandfather was a huge fan of the Peter England brand. I still remember when my aunt who used to stay in Mumbai used to visit us, the only demand my grandfather had was get him a Peter England shirt. Seeing this obsession of his even I generated a liking towards the brand. Other brand of the ABG group is the UltraTech Cement which was my first choice of cement for my first ever project. During my CAT preparation days when I was at home for nearly three months. I had taken up the task of supervising the task of our compound wall building. However silly it may sound but i take great pride in this project of mine. Everything from costing, designing and work force management all was done by me and UltraTech helped me build that project of mine. There maybe even more brands which may have been a part of my life knowingly or unknowingly but these two memories were the ones worth sharing.

I would start of by saying I still have a lot to achieve in my life, but also I would say the journey so far was not a smooth ride either. Getting into a good MBA college, clearing entrance exams, going through all those selection process still looks scary. But i'm glad I made it through. Now lets rewind to my working days. I worked as a Junior Production Engineer, I had to work in shifts which I never liked and used to always complain about. I always used to think little of my job. I always questioned myself whether what I am doing is really adding any value to my CV. One day I talked to my boss about the same and I still remember the answer he gave me, he said to appreciate the good in life you should experience the worst in life. It is then when you really start thriving for that better life. Questioning yourself is good but crying about your situation every now and then wont do you any good, instead try to add value to yourself every single day. Take it as a challenge to learn something new everyday and you will see how much value you add to yourself. And I really did, it worked wonders for me. I was the youngest engineer in my company to get selected for a project with international customers. This project gave me opportunities to travel and meet so many important people. I learned a lot during my time at my previous job and all this was possible due to that change in attitude, a positive intent to learn and add value to self.
