I am a Civil Engineer and the most liked product of a civil engineer is cement. UltraTech Cement Limited is the largest cement manufacturer in India and is also recognized worldwide. The company’s goal of transforming 58 villages into model villages will surely help the government of India to achieve its targets and will also increase the standard of living of citizens. 85% of the total power usage of the company is covered through thermal power plants and waste heat recovery systems. Right from engineering my dream is to work with Aditya Birla Group as its work culture fascinates me and its vision is the development of its stakeholders and the people.
Part B: It's my story
I come from a traditional town Palanpur (North Gujarat) which has an ideology of pursuing graduation and a simple job in a reputed company. For graduation, I came to Ahmedabad and I was astonished when I met people whose way of thinking and their passion were so diverse that it changed my perspective towards life. I never knew that such a work of event management even exists.
It was the first summer vacation of my college days, I was invited to work with the FIA to host the world’s biggest potluck party. I was little confused about the task as I had not worked in any of such event before. The days passed and I started working with the group where I learned the techniques of drawing out the paper plan on the ground. There I developed an interest in managing and coordinating the events. This helped me to take the next step in my career trajectory of pursuing MBA from a reputed instate like IIM Visakhapatnam. I had a dream of studying in a national institute like NIT and IIT from school but due to some unfavorable, I was not able to complete it. So, I started preparing for the CAT with enthusiasm and focus. There were many tough times as I was in the final year of my graduation I also needed to focus on CAT exam and the interviews. But I was determined to get into an IIM so I worked day and night and secured admission in one of the most reputed B-school ‘IIM Visakhapatnam”. This is my story of securing admission in IIM and also the life-changing event that changed my perspective.
