Omnipresent and Irreplaceable, Aditya Birla Group, an Indian Conglomerate, has etched its presence across the country and changed all of our lives for the better. Seemingly effortless in its approach, ABG has managed to find its way to every household making a positive impact in our lives since 1857. The tagline ‘The Engineer’s Choice’ is something every millennial’s been hearing right from their childhood and has earned their credibility and trust in the process. Personally, ABG has been helped me express myself at every stage of my life, with the clothes that I wear, the mobile network service that I use. ABG has proved its mettle by instilling an indispensable and inevitable image in the minds of consumers like me.  The success of ABG also lies in the quality of services that they provide which is greatly appreciated by the consumer. With the business ranging from cement, textile, fashion, telecom services, financial services, carbon black and non-ferrous metals, they have a foot in a wide range of industries. The group also recognises the value of its employees and has been looked at as one of the top places, where employees are taken care of well. With the K.K Birla Foundation, they also give back to society with the aim of promoting literature, especially in Hindi. It also focuses on promoting education and social work. Established in 1991, the Foundation has contributed a great deal to the underprivileged. With operations in around 35 countries in the world, the Aditya Birla Group has not only helped create thousands of jobs, but it has also been a source of pride for the country.

How I overcame challenges in my life:

Being afraid of public speaking or even addressing a few people in a group and then getting into the sales environment initially was a really big challenge for me. During my training, I would go completely blank when I had to pitch my ideas and give a blank stare to my managers. I failed miserably in the first two weeks of my job, and my managers almost made up their mind about me that I was hopeless. But I started working on this by forcing myself to talk to people I did not know and began socialising more often. I had spent my time off from work by visiting NGO's supporting children and other NGO's tending to wildlife, which in turn led me to converse with more people and lead many such operations. Things took quite a turn once I started gaining confidence and I eventually ended up being the top performer in my team for 2 straight months. I was also given the opportunity to lead my team after that. The two major lessons I learned from this are that having a particular talent or skill is not the most important part. Persistence and hard work can break any barrier stopping us from achieving our goal. I also learnt to embrace my weakness instead of avoiding it. I was able to look at it as an area I could improve in and learn. These lessons have stayed with me since, and I continue to work on becoming a better version of myself.
