To me, life at TISS is a rare opportunity to start looking at society and its manifold facets through an unbiased and an informed lens. The Foundation Course on Indian society, polity and economy that is run for all the first year students was something that I looked forward to the most in my first sem. It brought together students and faculty from different schools, be it – Development Studies, HR or Social Work on a common platform to exchange their ideas and dissent alike. And this is how we even live on the campus - like one big family with members from the most varied backgrounds and geographies across the world. And this is one aspect you too would love the most about TISS
Studying in TISS is not just about bookish intellect. ‘Field Work’ in every semester takes care that one gets the ‘on-the-field’ real life experience of working in their future disciplines. Add to that, the privilege we as TISS students get when our alumni who today are noted individuals in their fields come back to campus to share their experiences and feed our curiosity. Apart from this, the various campaigns, events and fests from different schools of TISS always keep the campus alive and hence there is never a dull moment, like many other colleges. You always have new and diverse learnings to look forward to.
Student life at TISS is a pampered one with a very caring and understanding administration, best of the infra-facilities; most extensively stacked and electronically equipped library and extremely hygienic food mess and canteens. I am also humbled to write that we are a very disabled friendly campus ensuring inclusiveness in every walk of life here. Culture, fun, sports, and intellect – you name it and you will experience it here.
TISS campus is a modest and a green haven in the middle of the hustle and bustle of Mumbai. A place where life is simple yet progressive and futuristic. Chai, laptops, friends and Mumbai rains is a rare combo. Come experience it at TISS!
