PART - B

I come from a small village in Bihar which is still longing for a minimum of 15 hours electricity even in this era of internet and industrialization. Education services still have not made their presence felt with only a poorly run government school catering to the needs of 3-4 nearby villages. Piped water is still a dream which may take another decade to materialize. People still use KUL or hand pump for water for personal and irrigation purpose. The ever-dwindling groundwater level is has become a major concern. Despite these challenges, I have learnt to fight problems and have managed to do reasonably well in spite of a humble background. When I first went to the city for education, I faced the problem of a language barrier. Coping up with Hindi was a task. English was still a dream which would take years. Adjusting to urban life was still an uphill task. But my hustle to overcome the barriers has brought me to this point where I am writing this, comfortably seated in my room in a premier B-school. Reaching this point is no small feat for me when I look at the past 20 years. In the very first school I attended, we had to take a sack alongside stationery items to school to sit because there were no chairs or benches in school. Here we are studying in air-conditioned classrooms but I know the journey that I have completed until now. We all realize our potential only when we are pushed to walls and there is no other way to go. Either fight or perish in this ever competitive world where nothing can be taken for granted. Hustle and innovation are ruling the roost in today's world where I think I have succeeded to overcome the problems. No matter how daunting a problem may look, how difficult a situation may feel, I can tell anyone from my experiences to hold their ground as it will pass by virtue of never giving it up. For life is not a simple game of luck and chances because I know it is always your hard work and attitude that will sail you through.
