Hailing from the beautiful white desert of Kutch, from the small lively town of Bhuj, I first became aware of Aditya Birla Group during 2001, earthquake of Gujarat as my town was the epicenter for the earthquake. Stranded on roads from rich to poor, all of us saw the rise of Gujrat Ambuja Cement Ltd. now known as Ambuja Cement Ltd. in our small town. Bags and bags of cement being unloaded to reconstruct the city of fallen men, for the reconstruction of the General Hospital of Bhuj which was the need of the hour. We’ve all used brands by Aditya Birla Group during the sweet golden spring of our lives from Allen Solly to Peter England, shopping at pantaloons to having a brunch of lemon tarts enhanced by Delice, but I have had the chance to experience the products and the company at the time of adversity. Stating facts Aditya Birla Group is engaged in the manufacture of rayon, cement, copper, and cellulose in Gujarat. The Aditya Birla Centre for Community Initiative and Rural Development has always provided headstrong assistance for the development of Gujarat. But the most striking encounter we the people of Kutch had was when Rajshree Birla Ma’am spearheaded a rehabilitation plan of Rs.100 crores direct donation and support to the people struck by the wrath of Nature. It was the support and assistance of Aditya Birla Group just like the resilient feature of UltraTech Cement that stood by in the rehabilitation of the district of Kutch. We often forget the people who stand by us during our good times but we never forget those who stood by us during the hour of need and Aditya Birla is that company for we the people of Kutch. Quoting the figures of the last Vibrant Gujarat Summit 2019 which I had visited Aditya Birla Group has planned to invest Rs. 15000 crore over the next three years in various business segments ranging from textiles and chemicals to mining and minerals with Gracism being the center of all.

The metamorphosis occurs at different stages in each ones’ life, it’s something so drastic yet so subtle in nature that it changes you completely not by replacing but by adding to your persona. I had always been a shy timid single child of the house. Always good at academics but under-confident about everything. 2012 the year came as one tinted in a hue of warm colors as it was my SSC boards. Outwitting all the predictions of my teachers and parents who we expecting me to be in the top 5 students at school I topped the entire school. The shy, timid, under-confident one had aced it and made it big enough. There started the journey of Nishi finding her own identity and striving to be there for people who’d always been there for me. A journey sweet and sour, with all spices of life an unending journey of learnings and experiences. A ride which would take me to places all around, to people of all cultures, to environments of all kind and the best part to make memories to cherish forever. There always awaits you a grander surprise I believe at each destination you reach in the journey. Chennai was one such destination in my life. Completely different culture, extremely challenging circumstances for a Gujarati girl out of state all alone for the first time. I believe what doesn’t kill you not only makes you stronger but makes you humbler in your outlook. A new place, a new office, new people with extensive training of 12 hours each day at TCS office along with a burning desire to crack CAT and get into a top-notch B-school were like myriad dreams under my lenses. Seemingly impossible for whoever heard it, my dreams gave a moment of awe-struck to some and sounded impossible and foolish to others. The struggle was real, the preparation Do or Die. Time Management extremely difficult with burning out the filaments each night and running along with sun rays entire day. But when you know how badly you want to achieve something you pour yourself into it without another thought. The strength which bewilders people comes from your courage, the same which dared you, lead you to dream big. This journey shinned through me brightened me and brought me here to live my dreams, to gaze at a brighter star, to rise higher towards the moon it brought me to SPJIMR it made me to who I am so proud to have become. #iamspjimr
