One such challenge I remember pretty well is while working with Bhumi NGO, who works for poor and destitute kids. One of the biggest challenge for any NGO is to raise funds. We were working on the same day and night and had a lot of brainstorming sessions for different funding sources. One of the best method came up was ‘Beach clean-up drive’. It was intriguing but yet challenging. The idea was basically to create awareness about the NGO and raise funds. We chose Juhu beach as it has very high footfall and also located in prime location in Mumbai. Finally the day arrived and after slogging for almost 5 hours i.e. from 7am to 12pm, we cleaned the beach to a very large extent and managed to collect 25k in cash and few visiting cards as well. Our work was also praised by BMC officers of Mumbai.
We never had any such experience but still we, team of 35 students, managed to face and overcome the challenge. To sum it up, if you have the burning DESIRE (coupled with persistence and hard work) to do something, you’re bound to achieve your summit.
