How you overcame challenges to achieve your ambitions in life so far
Speeches are not meant to inform, it’s a medium to make an impact. It’s a time when a number of people are present to hear your thoughts. It’s your time and your chance to propagate your views in the most effective manner. This is where you can make a name for yourself. These words have always intrigued me about the importance of communicating to large audiences. The importance of what you speak and how you speak always fascinated me. Thus, the thing for which I am most passionate is “public speaking”. My aspiration now is to become one of the best public speakers at a global level who can influence society in a good manner with my ideas and view. In my childhood, I was a very shy kid. To overcome my introvert nature, I started to participate in elocution and debate competitions regularly in school. Subsequently, I was chosen to give speeches in a flag-hoisting ceremony on Independence Day and Republic Day. That helped me a lot to overcome my weakness and improve myself which came handy in my graduation days where I was responsible for heading many committees. During my job, I got to know about the Toastmaster’s Club which is into organizing fortnight meeting where aspirant speakers meet and give speeches and evaluation of those speeches suggests the improvement scope. “The Power of Words” speech by Toastmaster Mohammed Qahtani gave me a boost to indulge myself more into this. I am planning to join the same and by winning their qualifying competitions, one day I want to represent India at an international level.
