Why Aditya Birla Group is big in my life

Aditya Birla Group was established in the year 1857 by Seth Shiv Narayan Birla. After independence in 1947 Grasim Industries Ltd, was incorporated and was involved the firm dealt in manufacturing textiles. Aditya Birla, the third largest Indian Multinational company has shaped different sectors of the Indian Market over the years.  I have felt that products and services of Aditya Birla Group have affected my life for the better in some way or the other.

Now coming to the major point why ABG is important for me. I am a native of Sambalpur, a city with a rich cultural heritage, located near the Mahanadi River in Odisha. In Hirakud, ABG has a coal-based captive thermal plant. There is one another plant in Lapanga near Sambalpur, which is my ancestral village. My village was not in good shape for a number of years. Proper facilities, education, healthcare, etc. was a pipedream for the villagers. Then came ABG. Construction of these plants has significantly improved the standard of living in these areas. People have been provided with employment opportunities and have become financially independent. With the inflow of opportunities, people have been able to set up small businesses to expand their income sources. People have started constructing new houses, send their children for proper schooling. As an observer, it feels good and proud to see your own village develop into something positive and prosperous. What was once a nondescript village has now turned into a cauldron of activity and progress. I shall forever remain indebted to ABG for bringing happiness to the lives of many.

How I overcame challenges to achieve my ambitions in life so far

This is something related to a journey during my college days. I have been an avid Quizzer all through my schooling and college career. At my undergrad college, we didn’t have an official Quizzing club, recognized by the college administrators. This meant no big events and no prize money pool for competitions. This led to a lot of other colleges not visiting our college for events because of the unorganized structure. This pained me a lot since the reputation of the college was of paramount importance. Moreover, Quizzing was life. I decided to do something about this. Me and group of my batch mates, made it a point against the college authorities, that the college needed a properly functioning Quizzing club. Initially, the college admins were reluctant towards agreeing to our demands since this would mean the allocation of funds. Parting with money is very difficult in our country. But more than that, it is about starting something new. Thus, came our first pitch ever in our lives. We pitched the idea of the club and why it was important for the college to have one. After a series of pitches, we were able to finally convince them. Thus came into existence the Quizzing club “Quizzine” at VSSUT, Burla. Then came a plethora of events organized by us. The college gained the publicity and attention that it truly deserved. Finally, I could see my dream of being realized in the form of the club. Never ever give up. Persevere and see the magic happening right in front of your eyes.
