The Aditya Birla Group boasts of its presence in the diverse sectors of metal, cement, textile, fashion,

BPO, IT, fertilizers, telecom and financial services. The group has grown and consolidated its

presence as one of the fastest growing conglomerates in India and around the world. The ABG

currently is INR 2.45 trillion group with over 120,000 employees from 42 nations, operating from 36

countries. Moreover, 50% of the company's revenue comes from its overseas operations.

But, more than any other segments, the fashion retail chain ‘Pantaloons’ and the telecom service

provider ‘Vodafone’ of the ABG have had the most significant presence in my life. Me, my parents

and cousins have always waited eagerly for the arrival of new fashion collections, end of season sales

and special discounts during festive occasions in the Pantaloons. The quality and variety of collection

has always been the USP of Pantaloons.

Aditya Birla Group is also one of the sought-after companies in major business schools in the

country. It is also the company I dream to work for, because of the opportunities to learn and

experience diverse business domains of fashion and retail, telecommunications, carbon, and steel

under a common roof. Moreover, the training programs of AGB are known to be of high quality.

The Aditya Birla Group also impacts our lives in a positive way by taking measures to improve our

society and making our country a better place to live in. The group’s humanitarian efforts in

Healthcare, Education, Infrastructure; and its initiatives in developing model villages is indeed

commendable.

Challenges faced in life......

'Service to Mankind is Service to God'. Helping people has always given me the most satisfaction. So I

tend to try and align my ambitions to help as much people in need as possible (P.S:- I'm an

ENGINEER. So, don't do the mistake of calling me a Maharishi). So here goes my story.

This was when one of the deadliest tropical cyclones hit Odisha. My home town Cuttack, and the

cities of Bhubaneswar and Puri were completely devastated. Cyclone Fani damaged kucchha houses

in the rural areas, uprooted lakhs of trees and electric poles. The after effects of the cyclone was

more devastating. The cities of Cuttack, Bhubaneswar and Puri were without electricity supply for at

least 7 days, in the scorching heat and excess humidity of summer. The major issues were that of

water. The water supply was quickly restored by the government but there was no power supply to

pump up water to overhead tanks.

I was working in TCS Bhubaneswar and had a bunch of few good friends. We as a group were able to

convince TCS, Bhubaneswar to provide us with generators so that we could go on in teams taking the

generators and help every household charge their inverters, lift up water to overhead tanks and

charge their electronic devices. We did this for about a week in the locality of CDA, Cuttack.

I really consider this as one of the highest points in my life because I was able to serve under

extreme weather conditions with utmost sincerity and dedication.
