Social Service, just saying these two words to a prospective graduate would pop the extracurricular resume point in his or her mind. Essentially that is how we apart from a few, in our society, are inclined to think. To me, it’s an entirely different concept. And it all started, or let’s say ingrained in my mind for future recall, when at a young age of around four, I was taken away by a group of people in a train, separated from my family. If I go back to that moment, I can still picture myself crying in that general coach of an express train going towards the national capital; Scared, hopeless and petrified, those were the genuine feelings I had, when out of the blue, the train stops in between, and all exit doors are shut from outside. After a gap of 10 minutes, I was in the AC coach with my family, everyone hugging and crying out of joy. Having seen two different facets of life in briefly a few minutes, that too for such a young mind, the impact had to be HUGE! And it all happened because of someone who knew what to do, when to do and how to do it, that too ensuring it to be fail-proof. That someone was my Father, a railway officer, who knew exactly whom to inform, ensuring the train stops, yet no one gets out, and ensuring proper use of railway personnel and force.
I wish to be that person from day ONE in lives of as many humans I can serve. Till date, I have worked with local, national as well as international NGOs working across a number of domains ranging from social service, education, food security, etc. And because of this, I have a network of people who care, who care selflessly for others; and with my career aspirations aside, as a human my ambition is to reach out to more and more people and spread awareness for altruistic, unbiased love, compassion and well-being of others around us. At the end of the day, no one wants to be that malnourished girl asking for alms, or that uneducated youth who would do anything for a day’s square meal, or as a matter of fact that kid crying in the general coach of a train uncertain of his future!
We all, at some point of time, need to overcome that challenge, that hurdle, that insecurity and come out as an impartial human being to give out love, care and joy, walk an extra mile for them, not because you would expect it in return, but chiefly because that one decision of yours might be the defining moment, a life changer, in that person’s life.
Uproot the status quo, Be the change!
Why ABG is big in my life?
Aditya Birla Group has become a part and parcel of our life. Even before I was born, my parents were a direct beneficiary of Aditya Birla’s mutual funds. After a few years when I got into school, the lunch packed in Freshwrapp catered to my nutrition and hygiene needs. The apparel from Pantaloons, the suits from Louis Philippe and Van Heusen, office wear from Allen Solly, etc sketched up the past 8 years of my life.
Then I see, UltraTech Cement, across India, touching lives of 1.5 million+ people in the local communities around its factories. It’s working in 480 villages across 15 states ensuring prompt healthcare, education, safe drinking water, sanitation, sustainable livelihood, and income generation opportunities for women.
Most of the virtual conversations that I had with friends and family were because of this exceptional network coverage of Idea, and with the Vodafone Idea becoming the next big thing, it’s only going to grow bigger and stronger.
If at this point of time I want a loan or want to invest some earnings or savings, I know which funds to look at, as Aditya Birla MyUniverse Limited is there for you for all your financing needs.
Currently Aditya Birla group, a US$44+ billion giant, is active across 14 different industry sectors. It has a huge user base, largest of which is in India. Also, the number of happy customers it has and the relationships it builds because of its presence in plethora of domains is itself a feat. I fall short of words to express my gratitude towards ABG for making our lives simpler, happier and better.
